Good for dry skin
Hi guys
I have really sensitive and dry skin. All the cleansers I used before this product dried my skin more. If you have dry skin as me, I highly recommend this glycolipid cream cleanser. Before using another product (serum, tonic..) wait 2 minutes for best results. You can make up on it.

After years of struggling with cleansers that left my dry, sensitive skin feeling tight and irritated, discovering The Ordinary Glycolipid Cream Cleanser felt like a skincare revelation. I know many of you are curious about what makes this product so special, especially when it comes to its ingredients and how it actually works with your existing routine. Let's dive deeper into why this gentle cream facial cleanser has become a staple for me, and why it's truly good for dry skin. One of the biggest questions I had was about the 'glycolipid' part itself. Glycolipids are fascinating! They're mild, sugar-based cleansing agents that effectively lift away impurities and makeup without stripping your skin's natural moisture barrier. Unlike harsher sulfates that can leave you feeling parched, glycolipids maintain that delicate balance, which is absolutely crucial for anyone with dry or sensitive skin. This is why I can confidently say it's 'Best for make up' removal without the post-wash dryness. I've personally found it melts away even stubborn mascara and foundation with ease, leaving my skin feeling soft, not squeaky clean. Beyond the star glycolipids, I appreciate The Ordinary's commitment to minimalist formulations. This cleanser often contains hydrating ingredients like glycerin, which draws moisture into the skin, further enhancing that non-drying experience. Understanding these core components is key to knowing why it feels so different from other cleansers on the market. It’s designed to be effective yet incredibly kind. Now, let's talk about interactions – a super important aspect for building a cohesive skincare routine. The beauty of this glycolipid cleanser is its versatility. Because it's so gentle, it plays well with almost everything! I use it both 'Am - Pm' as suggested by the packaging. In the morning, it's a refreshing start, prepping my skin without over-drying before my serums and moisturizers. In the evening, it's my first step to remove the day's grime and makeup. I've found it interacts beautifully with active ingredients I use later in my routine, like retinoids or Vitamin C serums. Since it doesn't leave any residue or disrupt my skin's pH significantly, these subsequent products can absorb and work effectively. The original article mentioned waiting 2 minutes before applying other products, and I find that's a great tip – it allows your skin to settle and ensures optimal absorption of the next step. I’ve never experienced any pilling or adverse reactions, which is a huge relief for someone constantly trying to balance potent treatments with a healthy skin barrier. For anyone who's struggled with redness or tightness after cleansing, understanding these ingredients and their gentle interaction with your skin barrier could be the missing piece. It's not just another cleanser; it's a foundational step that respects your skin's natural ecosystem. It really is a gentle cream facial cleanser that lives up to its promise for dry and sensitive skin types, making your entire routine more effective and enjoyable.
