Jamaican Patty Lasagna
I did something ridiculous…and it worked! Jamaican Patty Lasagna! Layer open face spicy beef patty, mozzarella, sauce ricotta and repeat layer and use top crust to close it off with sauce, mozzarella, ricotta, and pepperoni. Bake for 20 mins and enjoy!

I recently tried making Jamaican Patty Lasagna myself and found it to be a game-changer in Caribbean fusion cuisine. The process of layering open-face spicy beef patties along with mozzarella, ricotta cheese, sauce, and pepperoni creates a rich and flavorful casserole that’s unlike traditional lasagna but equally comforting. When preparing the patties, I suggest using high-quality ground beef mixed with classic Jamaican spices such as thyme, pimento, and Scotch bonnet peppers to get that authentic kick. Allow the patties to cool slightly before layering to maintain their structure. For the cheese layers, I found that combining both ricotta and mozzarella balances creaminess and meltiness, enhancing the dish’s texture. Don’t forget to use a generous amount of tangy, tomato-based sauce to complement the spicy patty layers. Interestingly, the concept of using Jamaican patties in a lasagna format blends Caribbean street food with the Italian classic, offering a versatile dish perfect for family dinners or potlucks. Baking for about 20 minutes ensures the cheese melts beautifully, and the top crust turns golden brown. This recipe is also adaptable; you can experiment by adding vegetables like bell peppers or spinach to increase nutritional value. For those who enjoy extra spice, adding sliced Scotch bonnet peppers within layers can elevate the heat level. Overall, Jamaican Patty Lasagna is a creative, hearty, and crowd-pleasing dish that stands out for its fusion of flavors and textures. It’s a fantastic way to enjoy the beloved Jamaican patty in an exciting new format, delivering a satisfying meal that combines comfort and culinary adventure.
