Why You Enlarge Your Tent!
Ok, so first off, sorry my picture is so dark. I was studying one night and something came to me so I wrote it down. I like to have pictures on my phone as well because my memory is awful and I like to refresh my thoughts when I’m thinking throughout the day.
So, why did I say enlarge your tent and what in the world does that mean?
I will tell ya! I was watching a video a friend sent me one day and this preacher was talking about his Bible study time with some friends and how they reshaped their thinking. So the words on the left side of the photo (hurting, exhausted, angry, resentful, tense) he mentioned as his focus and I related too much to this.
Isn’t it crazy how we carry so much sometimes without even realizing it.
So when he pointed it out and then reframed it, I honestly felt a sense of relief. Like God knew it was an answer I’d been searching for in my studies and prayers.
I’ve had on my heart and mind to lead a women’s Bible study but always tried to think through the how and where and got frustrated when I couldn’t figure out. Which is not what we are supposed to be doing are we? But when I let go of my plans, and opened my mind to God’s plans (enlarged my tent to be open) He did some amazing things I could’ve never imagined!
God not only gave me a women’s Bible study of moms I attended. He also opened a door through that to lead a young ladies Bible study. But then He also led me to a youth ministry in my own church!
Honestly, two things I never thought was good enough for or qualified for in my walk with God.
Now let me just say, it wasn’t all those negative things because of my failed attempt at making my own plans, but more my failed past mistakes still weighing me down.
But God.
I love that He pursued me, chased after me, and is now using me for His glory!
I hope this testimony brings you happiness, excitement, awesomeness, rest and thankfulness today!
And I hope you open your eyes to the 1 God is calling you to in this season!
Enlarge your tents! AMEN! 🙏🏻
Enlarging your tent symbolizes creating space for new blessings and opportunities that God has in store for you. In life, it’s easy to feel burdened by past mistakes or limiting beliefs, but embracing a mindset of openness can lead to remarkable personal and spiritual growth. Many people resonate with the feeling of being weighed down by negative emotions such as anger, resentment, or exhaustion. Recognizing these feelings is the first step towards healing. When you actively let go of these burdens, you invite positivity and growth into your life. Consider the biblical teachings that encourage us to expand our horizons. For instance, Isaiah 54:2 states, 'Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes.' This invitation to expand not only applies to material success but also spiritual fulfillment and community engagement. Leading or attending a Bible study can be one powerful way to enlarge your tent. These gatherings foster a sense of community, support, and shared purpose, enabling individuals to explore their faith more deeply and connect with like-minded peers. As you step outside your comfort zone and say yes to God’s calling, unexpected doors may open. Whether it’s mentoring younger individuals, engaging in youth ministry, or simply sharing your testimony, each step forward can enrich your life and the lives of those around you. Ultimately, the journey of enlarging your tent is about being receptive to God’s plans, letting go of fear, and embracing the blessings that come your way. Recognize that you are deserving of joy and purpose, and take steps towards creating the life you are meant to lead.
