Making a list is easier than journaling
Do you hate falling short of your journaling goal? Because I do! I can write a few sentences most times but there are days when doing my best does not include journaling. Plus, I would rather not journal just to say I did it.
For January I decided to write a list of things I love about life.
My list:
I love the way the sun hits my face
I love the warmth I feel from the ones I hug
I love language barriers when I travel that force me to connect deeply with others
I love the way we all love food
I love when others share their art with me
I love waking up in the morning knowing I am loved
I love being a woman
I love the way beautiful music makes my soul move
I love the way I am loved
I love the freedom I have earned
More importantly, I love me
💚
For February I’ll be writing a list of things that inspire me ☺️

If you're finding journaling to be daunting, you’re not alone. Many people struggle with maintaining daily journaling practices, often feeling pressured to write profound entries every time. Instead, consider the benefits of simple lists. Lists can serve as a refreshing approach to self-reflection, allowing you to capture your thoughts and feelings in a concise format. For example, creating a list of things that bring you joy, like the warmth of loved ones or the beauty of nature, can provide a quick emotional boost and help elevate your mood. Lists can also be easily revisited and expanded upon over time, making them a versatile tool for personal growth. Moreover, lists have been shown to promote mindfulness, as they encourage you to focus on positive aspects of your life. By recognizing daily joys, you're likely to cultivate a more optimistic outlook. In a fast-paced world, making time for small joys can be a grounding practice that fosters gratitude. If chosen creatively, your lists can evolve in many ways, such as documenting inspiration or setting monthly goals. So, whether you’re listing what makes you happy, your travel aspirations, or even your artistic inspirations, the act of writing them out can serve as a powerful reminder of life's beauty.

Brilliant!
