Easy Snacks Under 100 Calories
My trip to Colombia was everything and more. Which means I returned with a couple extra pounds 🫶🏾🙂↕️. So I ran to Aldi and spent less than $50 on these snacks.
Here’s a few low-calorie snacks I’m enjoying now that I’m back to my regular routine: (All under 100 calories)
1 cup of blueberries (80 calories)
Hydration and antioxidant packed snack. Easy grab-and-go.
2 cups of popcorn (70 calories)
Better option than chips when craving something salty. We normally crave salty foods when we’re tired.
1 Apple with 1 tbsp of peanut butter (95 calories)
The combo of fiber + fats + protein = curbs hunger.
1 cup of baby carrots and cucumbers with 2 tbsp of hummus (95 calories)
Full of texture when you’re ready for something new and refreshing. These make great after-lunch snacks.
1 hard-boiled egg (80 calories)
High protein + low calorie.
1 cup of Greek yogurt topped with berries (100 calories)
Protein and antioxidants with a creamy experience. Yum! I eat Greek yogurt every morning. I love adding granola, letting it sit for an hour, then diving in. The texture is nearly cake-like.
1 handful of strawberries (25 calories)
Strawberries are one of the lowest calorie fruits out there.
1 cup of cherry tomatoes (30 calories)
Add a dash of balsamic vinegar for extra flavor.
1 handful of dried apricots (65 calories)
Great source of energy with vitamin C.
1 medium orange (50 calories)
Vitamin C from oranges hydrates and brightens skin.
These are just a few of my favorites right now. They’re simple, nutritious, and helping me shed those vacation pounds without feeling restricted. In fact, I’m eating frequently. 🍎🍓🍊🥕🫐
Eat well,
Jau 💚

Getting back into a healthy routine after a fun, indulgent trip can be a challenge – trust me, I've been there! I returned from my last vacation feeling a bit heavier than I'd like, and my usual go-to snacks just weren't cutting it. I realized I needed simple, satisfying options that wouldn't derail my progress but still felt like a treat. That's how I discovered the magic of smart, low-calorie snacking. One of my absolute favorite categories for guilt-free indulgence is berries and Greek yogurt. The original article mentions 1 cup of blueberries at 80 calories and Greek yogurt with berries at 100 calories, and my personal experience fully backs this up. I love how versatile this combo is! Beyond just mixing them in a bowl, I often make mini parfaits with layers of plain, unsweetened Greek yogurt (key for keeping calories low!), a handful of fresh blueberries and strawberries, and maybe a tiny sprinkle of cinnamon. Sometimes, I'll even freeze a mix of yogurt and berries in silicone molds for a refreshing, icy treat – perfect for warmer days! Berries aren't just delicious; they're packed with antioxidants and fiber, which helps keep me feeling full longer. If you're looking to expand, raspberries and blackberries are also fantastic low-calorie options to add to your yogurt or enjoy on their own. When those salty cravings hit, especially in the afternoon when I'm feeling a bit tired, I steer clear of chips and reach for popcorn. The article suggests 2 cups for 70 calories, and I've found air-popped popcorn to be a game-changer. It gives you so much volume for so few calories, making you feel like you're having a substantial snack. My trick for making it exciting without adding tons of calories is experimenting with seasonings. Beyond just salt, I love sprinkling nutritional yeast for a cheesy flavor, a dash of smoked paprika, or even a tiny amount of chili powder for a little kick. A quick spray of olive oil cooking spray can help the seasonings stick better without piling on extra fat. Another staple in my snack rotation is crunchy vegetables, often paired with a light dip. The idea of carrots and cucumbers with hummus (95 calories) from the article is spot on. I find the crunch incredibly satisfying. To mix it up, I also love adding bell pepper strips or celery sticks. For the dip, while hummus is great, sometimes I'll whip up a quick Greek yogurt-based ranch dip or simply use salsa. And don't forget cherry tomatoes – they're super refreshing, and a little drizzle of balsamic vinegar, as suggested, truly elevates their flavor! For a protein boost, you can't go wrong with a hard-boiled egg (80 calories). These are my meal prep heroes! On Sundays, I usually boil a batch of 6-8 eggs so I have them ready to grab throughout the week. They're so quick and easy, and the protein content really helps to curb hunger and keep me energized. Another fantastic protein-fiber-fat combo is an apple with a small amount of peanut butter (95 calories). The key here is portion control for the peanut butter – a tablespoon is plenty to get that satisfying flavor and healthy fats without overdoing the calories. Finally, for simple, sweet satisfaction, fruits like oranges (50 calories) and dried apricots (65 calories for a handful) are always a win. Oranges are incredibly hydrating and packed with Vitamin C, great for an afternoon pick-me-up. For dried apricots, I've learned that a small handful is enough to satisfy that sweet tooth and provide a good energy boost. It's easy to overdo dried fruit, so I always measure it out. These simple fruit choices, along with the strawberries and blueberries mentioned earlier, are fantastic for satisfying cravings without sabotaging my health goals. By having these delicious and easy low-calorie options ready, I've found it's so much easier to stay on track. It's all about making smart choices that you genuinely enjoy, so eating well never feels like a restriction. Happy snacking!
