Making bread is so easy 🍞
I found an easy bread recipe on YouTube and thought, “I can make that!” And you can too! 😊
Easy Artisan Bread Recipe:
Ingredients:
Bread Flour: 3 and 1/4 cups
Instant Yeast: 2 teaspoons
Coarse Salt: 2 teaspoons
Cool water: 1 and 1/2 cups
Instructions:
1. Mix the dough
Whisk the flour, yeast, and salt together in a dry bowl. (Always mix the dry ingredients together first before adding liquids). Pour in water (a little at a time) and stir until the dough is sticky.
2. Let it rise 👼
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it sit at room temperature for 3 hours. (You can also let it sit for up to 24 hours if that’s more convenient.)
3. Shape and score
Cover your pan in parchment paper. Pour flour over a small surface (I used a clean countertop) and pour the dough onto the flour. Roll the dough into the shape of your pan. Place the dough in the parchment paper-lined pan and slice the top in a few places. Have fun with the slicing.
4. Place in the oven
Cover the pan in foil. Preheat the oven to 450° and place the dough inside while the oven warms.
5. Bake 🤰
Let the future bun sit in the oven for 30 mins while covered. Then uncover and let it bake for another 30 mins.
6. Cool down
Pull the dough out of the pan and let it sit for 20 mins before slicing. Take photos and share how proud you are!
7. Enjoy the bread you just made!
Making bread makes me feel so secure, like if the apocalypse happened, I could still make bread to feed my family. And it’s a cool feeling to have.
Happy baking,
Jau 💚

Baking bread at home has become a comforting and rewarding experience for me, especially after discovering this simple 4-ingredient artisan bread recipe. One of the best parts about this recipe is that it requires minimal ingredients — just bread flour, instant yeast, coarse salt, and cool water — which makes it very accessible for anyone wanting to try baking for the first time. What I love most is the no-knead aspect where the dough is simply mixed until sticky, then left to rise at room temperature for a generous 3 hours or even up to 24 hours, allowing the natural fermentation to develop flavor and texture with little effort. This slow rise is what gives the bread its beautiful crust and airy crumb. Shaping the dough is a fun, hands-on part where you roll it out on a floured surface and tailor it to fit your baking pan. Scoring the dough — making slashes on top — not only adds a rustic look but also helps the bread expand properly in the oven. The baking step involves covering the dough while it bakes at 450°F for 30 minutes to trap steam, which helps form a crunchy crust, then uncovering it for another 30 minutes to brown the exterior. The aroma that fills your kitchen during this process is incredibly inviting and makes the whole effort feel worthwhile. One tip I've learned from experience is to make sure your dough isn't too wet; it should be sticky but manageable to shape easily. Also, letting the bread cool for about 20 minutes after baking is essential — it finishes the cooking and makes slicing easier without squashing the loaf. Beyond just making delicious bread, this recipe has given me a sense of security and accomplishment. Knowing I can rely on such a straightforward process to create fresh bread anytime feels empowering, especially in unpredictable times. Plus, sharing photos and the bread itself with family or friends brings extra joy. If you're new to baking, give this easy recipe a try with just your basic kitchen tools and ingredients. The results will surprise you, and soon you might be experimenting with different flours, shapes, and flavors. Happy baking!
