Diy RED BOTTOMS REPAIR
I was organizing my closet and came across my shoes and remembered I needed to reapply a protector.
I was sad to see part of the protector broke off the edge thus leaving my pretty bottoms exposed 😔
I'm an "if it has a function then I'm using it for that function" type of person so I actually wear my heels. I love love love them so much. These though, were in need of some TLC !!!
The previous protectors that I had on were more of a plastic type that well, as we now know, broke and failed to do its job 🤣
This time I chose to opt for a more rubber type of protector so hopefully it will hold up!
Obviously it's not going to protect 100 percent. loubs weren't necessarily meant to trek miles on gravel and pavement more so meant for those with a "soft" life.
As for an average Joe like me, I had a collection of heels but never any that were high end or even "nice" brands but I knew I wanted to downsize my closet - I said I would buy myself 2 pairs and they were gonna be the ones I always wanted.
Blessed to have what I have and so I try to care for those things!
Taking care of your Christian Louboutin red bottoms is definitely a rewarding process, especially when you rely on them to complete your look regularly like I do. One thing I’ve found helpful beyond just applying a rubber sole protector is to regularly inspect your heels for any early signs of wear or damage. This way, you can nip scuffs or broken protectors in the bud before they cause bigger problems. When choosing sole protectors, consider more durable and flexible materials that can absorb impact better than hard plastic types. Rubber works great for this reason. Also, I learned that sole protectors, while essential, don’t offer 100% protection—especially if you walk a lot on rough surfaces like gravel or pavement. To extend the life of your red bottoms, try to limit heavy wear when possible and store them properly in dust bags. If you do get scuffs or marks on the soles, some light touch-ups with color-safe repair putty designed for shoe soles can make a difference. Just be careful to match the intense red color correctly to keep that signature look intact. Lastly, it’s important to embrace that some wear is inevitable if you love your heels as much as I do, and caring for them with regular maintenance only makes them last longer and look better. Give your Louboutins some TLC and enjoy wearing your prized footwear with confidence!
