Skincare Tips- From professional Dermatologists

Recently have seen a lot of “trending” skincare tips that are genuinely not good for your face no matter what skin you have. I really feel like some of yall don’t really share the reasons why those are bad and just want to follow a trend…so here’s an actual good list of products to use (that I use).

My skin: I have combination skin, dry sometimes and oily others. So if this isn’t your skin take some recommendations but don’t freak out if they don’t work. We all have different skin types ❤️

I use:

Lanagie- lip mask, water sleeping mask, water bank moisture cream.

Personal medication- I use a certain acid received by my doctor I won’t name because you need to see a doctor for the product and it depends on how bad your skin is at any point. I got as bad to the point they thought I had a skin eating disease (spoiler I just had bad acne)

glow recipe- watermelon PHA Toner (if this burns DO NOT CONTINUE TO USE) this means your skin is too sensitive and you need a less harsh toner

BYOMA- de-puff and brightening eye cream. You need literally the smallest dot to go on both under eyes. One small bottle lasts over 6 months.

The Ordinary- squalene cleanser

Now just to say again these are what work for me and trust me when I say I recommend them for my type of skin and know they are good for My face. Use these are your own pace and skin test them.

Trending ideas not to do:

“Use 12 types of “The Ordinary” acids and oils”

- do not do that. Your skin can only hold so much and you will irritate your skin to become super dry or super oily. And you need to be sure you know what specifically your skin is missing. Not what you “think” is missing. Trust me we all did it but it’s just not a good method.

“you should ice your face two times a day am and evening”

- no, this will ruin your skin barrier causing more frequent breakouts and acne scarring. Please do not do this.

“use Vaseline under the eyes”

- again no, your skin barrier is full of pores. Use this and you will fill pores in a very delicate area. The under eyes is extremely delicate and should never be scrubbed or rubbed too hard. You have milia located in the pores under the eyes adding a jelly will just irritate your skin.

I hope this helps!

... Read moreIn today's skincare landscape, misinformation can lead to poor choices. Often, professional dermatologists emphasize the importance of understanding your skin type before trying new products. For instance, individuals with combination skin should focus on balancing hydration without overwhelming their skin with heavy products. It's essential to incorporate gentle exfoliants like PHA toners and prioritize moisture with effective creams like those from Laneige. Skincare routines should be tailored to individual needs, and it is advisable to avoid piling on multiple active ingredients, as overloading the skin can lead to irritation and breakouts. Moreover, popular trends such as icing the face or using Vaseline under the eyes can potentially harm the skin barrier. The delicate under-eye area requires special attention; using heavy products here can lead to milia formation and clogged pores. Instead, opt for lightweight eye creams that soothe and nourish without causing damage. Ultimately, the key takeaway is to listen to your skin and consult dermatologists for personalized advice, avoiding the allure of fleeting trends and focusing on proven skincare practices.
