Plot Twist: Iām a reader again š š
I canāt remember the last time I finished a book š but this was the perfect one to ease back into reading: cozy summer romance vibes between the shy, nerdy book lover and the outgoing, āwomanizerā fisherman in a small town where everybody knows everybody. 4.5/5 š from me!
It was nice to get lost in another world for a little bit š book # 22/75 for the year (letās not talk about it š„“š¤£)
Okay, so I just had to tell you all more about this little gem that completely re-sparked my love for reading! Seriously, if you've been in a reading slump, or just need that perfect, heartwarming escape, this cozy summer romance is your answer. I picked it up on a whim ā maybe it was the adorable cover or the buzz I'd seen about the 'Cinnamon Bun Bookstore' setting ā and I'm so glad I did. The story itself is pure RomCom magic. Think a delightful blend of 'shy girl meets charming, slightly rogue fisherman' in a quaint small town. Our protagonist is a super relatable shy, nerdy book lover, who, let's be honest, spends a lot of time lost in her own literary worlds. Then there's the fisherman, who might have a bit of a reputation as a 'womanizer,' but trust me, he's got a heart of gold underneath. Watching their dynamic unfold was just the sweetest thing. It's that classic 'everybody knows everybody' small town vibe, which adds so much charm and a few hilarious meddling characters! What I adored most was how easily I got lost in this world. It truly felt like stepping into a fun summer adventure. The descriptions of the small town and its coastal life were so vivid, I could practically smell the salty air and feel the sunshine. For anyone who loves a good 'kindle romance' you can take anywhere, this is it. Itās the kind of book you want to read curled up on your couch, or even better, on a beach towel with a cool drink in hand. The romance itself is a slow burn that builds beautifully. It's not rushed, allowing you to really connect with both characters as they navigate their feelings and overcome their own insecurities. Our shy book lover really comes into her own, and the fisherman shows his depth beyond his initial portrayal. Itās all about those 'cute fisherman falls for book lover' moments that just melt your heart. I've been trying to put my finger on why this book resonated so much, and I think it's the perfect combination of familiar tropes done incredibly well with fresh, engaging characters. It has that delightful feel where you're rooting for the couple from page one, experiencing all the butterflies and laugh-out-loud moments right along with them. If you're a fan of stories where a strong, kind-hearted 'shy girl' finds her voice and her unexpected match, this is definitely for you. It even has a bit of that 'Laurie meets Gilmore' charm ā quick wit, heartfelt moments, and memorable small-town dynamics. Seriously, if you need a pick-me-up, something that will make you smile, sigh, and maybe even shed a happy tear or two, pick up this book. It's the perfect antidote to a stressful day and the ideal companion for any season, though it truly shines as a summer read. I finished it feeling so content and ready to dive into my next read, which is a huge win for me! Don't walk, run to grab your copy ā you won't regret it!

Plot twist indeed! Glad you're back to reading, this book sounds super cute btw!
