You guys, I still can’t believe this happened to me. I was absolutely ecstatic when I found out I won a brand new iPad from a tech challenge. I’d been dreaming of upgrading my setup, maybe even getting an Apple Magic Keyboard to go with it for productivity. The anticipation of that package arriving was almost unbearable! I tracked it obsessively, counting down the minutes until it was supposed to be delivered by UPS. When the delivery notification finally popped up, I rushed to the door. The box looked a little... off. It was sealed, but it felt incredibly light. My heart started pounding as I carefully opened it. Inside, there was nothing but an empty space where my shiny new iPad should have been. The OCR identified an 'open cardboard box, appearing empty except for a white card with a red Apple logo and brown stickers'. That's exactly what I saw – just that little Apple logo card and some random stickers, mocking me from the empty void. My stomach dropped. I immediately knew something was terribly wrong. My first thought was, 'How could this happen?!' Then, a ray of hope: my home security cameras! Thank goodness I had them installed. I quickly pulled up the footage, hands shaking. And there it was, clear as day. The UPS driver, instead of placing the package gently, seemed to be fumbling with it. Then, I saw them. Them! Plural! It wasn't just a simple mistake; it looked like a calculated move. The footage clearly showed the driver tampering with the box before leaving it. It was undeniable proof. I had literally 'found' the evidence of my stolen iPad right there on my hard drive. Armed with this indisputable evidence, I immediately contacted UPS. It was a long, frustrating process. They initially tried to brush me off, but when I mentioned the clear camera footage, their tone changed quickly. This kind of story, especially with video proof, has the potential to go viral, maybe even get picked up by sites like the Daily Dot. I felt a mix of anger and validation. It wasn't just a lost package; it was theft, and I had the proof. For anyone else who might go through something similar, here's my advice: ALWAYS have security cameras if you can. They are truly invaluable. Document everything – take photos of the empty box, the stickers, any damage. Keep all tracking information. And don't back down when dealing with customer service. Your persistence can make a huge difference. This experience taught me that even when something devastating happens, with the right tools and determination, you can fight back. I'm still dealing with the fallout, but knowing I caught them provides some comfort. Be vigilant out there, Lemon8 fam!

Call the usps postal inspectors! They DO NOT play about stolen packages, especially from employees!
