Battery Intelligence + Charging Time (iOS 26)
Charging smarter, not harder 💡🔋 iOS 26 now shows the estimated time left to full charge right in the Battery settings! AND Apple Intelligence is here — it limits charging, learns your habits, and helps protect your battery from aging 🧠✨ Only on iPhone 15+ and newer 💜
To see the iPhone battery time left: it shows up briefly when your phone is plugged in when you unlock it. No “on/off” button.
Ever since I updated my iPhone to iOS 26, I've been really impressed with how much smarter the battery management has become! I used to always worry about my battery health, especially after a long day, but these new features have really changed my charging routine for the better. One thing I absolutely love is the new estimated charging time. You know how frustrating it is to plug in your phone and wonder if it'll be ready before you head out? Now, when I plug in my iPhone 15+ and unlock it, I briefly see exactly how long until it's fully charged. It's such a small detail, but it makes a huge difference in planning my day. No more guessing games or needing a separate 'charging time app' – it's all built right in! Beyond just seeing the time, Apple Intelligence is really doing some heavy lifting behind the scenes. My phone is actually learning my daily charging habits and using that information to optimize battery charging. For example, if it knows I usually unplug my phone around 7 AM, it might hold the charge at 80% for a while and only top it up to 100% just before I wake up. This 'optimized battery charging' is amazing for slowing down battery aging. I've even noticed notifications on my lock screen confirming that optimized charging is active, which is a great reassurance. It’s like my iPhone is looking out for its own long-term health, and by extension, mine! I've also been diving deeper into the battery stats, which are more accessible now. While there isn't a specific 'on/off' shortcut for the estimated charging time display itself, you can easily check your 'Battery' status and health. Head over to Settings > Battery, and you'll find details like your battery's 'Normal' capacity relative to when it was new, and even the 'Cycle Count' – which tells you how many full charge cycles your battery has completed. Keeping an eye on this helps me understand my battery's lifespan. I also discovered 'Clean Energy Charging' and 'Low Power Mode'. These are fantastic features for both environmental impact and extending your phone's daily usage. 'Clean Energy Charging' works with your local energy grid to charge when cleaner energy sources are available, and 'Low Power Mode' is my go-to for squeezing out extra hours when I'm running low. It temporarily reduces background activities, so I don't feel completely disconnected. These smart features, especially on my iPhone 15+, truly make a difference. It's not just about charging faster, but charging smarter to ensure my device stays healthy for longer. If you haven't explored these iOS 26 battery improvements yet, you're missing out!
