What mods make V feel more you?
Dear Night City besties,
I just restarted Cyberpunk 2077 and found myself staring at the character creator like…
“You’re cute, but you could be CUTER.” 💭✨
Right now, I’m playing vanilla (no character mods yet), but I’m officially in my research + inspo era. This post is half reset diary, half open invitation—because I know some of you have turned V into an actual work of art.
What’s shown ✨
• Fresh Cyberpunk 2077 restart
• Vanilla character customization (no mods… yet 👀)
• The beginning of my “pretty V” journey
• A reminder that modding is ✨personal✨
Mods people love for prettier characters 💿
(for anyone else starting from scratch)
• Appearance Menu Mod (AMM) – lets you tweak V’s look in-game (hair, makeup, features)
• Cyber Engine Tweaks (CET) – required for many customization mods
• High-quality skin & complexion mods – smoother, more realistic skin textures
• Hair packs (vanilla-friendly) – lore-safe styles that still feel elevated
• Eye & makeup retextures – small change, BIG visual payoff
Most of these work best on PC and are usually installed with Vortex Mod Manager for sanity-saving organization.
💜 Mini Must-Knows
1. Start simple – one or two appearance mods first so you know what actually changed
2. Lore-friendly mods = timeless looks – they age better than extreme edits
3. Screenshots hit harder with lighting tweaks – character mods + good lighting = chef’s kiss
I’m still deciding how far I want to go—soft enhancement or full cyber doll era—but I’d LOVE to know what you use.
Drop your favorite mods, hidden gems, or “never playing without this again” recs below 🫶🏽
Save this if you’re restarting too, and follow along while I build my dream V 💫
-Sincerely,
Tee 💜🫶🏽

Stepping back into Night City with a fresh save in Cyberpunk 2077 always reignites that spark to craft the perfect V. The base character creator is good, but for those of us who want to give our protagonist that extra edge or a truly unique look, mods are an absolute game-changer. I’ve spent countless hours tweaking my V, aiming for that perfect balance between gritty cyberpunk aesthetics and stunning visual appeal, and I'm excited to share some deeper insights. First off, if you’re diving into character customization mods, two tools are practically non-negotiable: Cyber Engine Tweaks (CET) and Appearance Menu Mod (AMM). CET isn't just a prerequisite for many mods; its in-game overlay is incredibly powerful. I use it constantly for console commands to fix minor glitches or even just to reposition my character slightly for better screenshots. It truly opens up the game's backend for incredible customization potential. Once you have CET, AMM becomes your best friend. This mod transforms the character customization screen, allowing you to change V's appearance on the fly, even after you've left the initial character creation. Want to try out a new hair pack or change your makeup before a big mission? AMM makes it seamless. I've found it invaluable for experimenting with different looks, from vibrant pink hair styles to more subtle, lore-friendly enhancements, all without reloading saves. While the original article touched on making V 'prettier,' the beauty of modding Cyberpunk 2077 is that you can push any aesthetic you desire. If you're like me and sometimes crave a more 'grittier game experience,' you can look beyond just smooth skin textures. There are fantastic mods for scarred or weathered complexions, realistic cyberware overlays, and even subtle dirt and grime effects that make V look like they’ve truly survived the harsh realities of Night City. These types of mods blend incredibly well with the game's atmosphere, making your V feel more like a seasoned merc rather than a pristine doll. Don't forget about eye and makeup retextures – they're small changes but can dramatically alter V's expression and overall vibe, pushing them from cute to fierce, or mysterious. When it comes to installation, I highly recommend sticking with Vortex Mod Manager. It handles dependencies and potential conflicts much better than manual installation, saving you a lot of headaches. Always start with one or two mods to ensure compatibility before adding more. And speaking of compatibility, remember to check mod pages for any specific requirements or load order instructions, especially for significant overhauls. Backing up your saves before a major modding session is also a golden rule I've learned the hard way! Finally, once you've perfected your V, you'll want to show them off! The game's photo mode combined with mods is a powerhouse. As mentioned, lighting tweaks are crucial, but don't underestimate the power of AMM for posing. You can make V strike dynamic poses, which looks incredible whether you're viewing them on a high-end PC monitor or even admiring your masterpiece on a purple handheld gaming device. Experiment, have fun, and let your V truly reflect the vision you have for your journey through Night City.

I just got the portal myself and I just started playing cyberpunk I’m loving it so far
