Les Misérables: The Arena Spectacular (SG 2026)
The barricade has risen in Singapore. 🇫🇷👊 This arena staging of Les Misérables is nothing short of spectacular.
What’s billed as a “concert-style” production is actually fully acted and filled with powerful, emotionally charged performances — with dynamic staging, costume changes, striking lighting, and a full orchestra on stage bringing the glorious score to life.
Gerónimo Rauch anchors the show with his deeply moving portrayal of Jean Valjean, holding the audience in the palm of his hand as we follow his journey to redemption, while Jeremy Secomb commands the stage as a resolute Javert, unwavering to the very end.
Lea Salonga and Red Concepción are wickedly delicious as the Thénardiers — stealing every scene with impeccable comic timing.
Na-Young Jeon brings a quiet strength and fragility to Fantine, making her descent all the more devastating, while Natalie Ong returns home with her highly acclaimed Éponine from the West End, delivering raw and heart-wrenching emotion.
Will Callan gives Marius an earnest, romantic charm, and is especially affecting in “Empty Chairs at Empty Tables” as he mourns his friends lost in the revolution. Lulu-Mae Pears shines as Cosette with a pure, bell-like tone that captures her innocence beautifully.
Harry Chandler leads the revolution with conviction as Enjolras, and Oliver Maurice is a spirited, streetwise Gavroche. Earl Carpenter brings quiet compassion as the Bishop, while Janelle Lee sings a sweet rendition of “Castle on a Cloud” as Little Cosette.
The ensemble is outstanding, matching the scale and intensity of the orchestra with passion and energy. This phenomenal 40th anniversary all-star production proves that even on an arena scale, Les Misérables can still feel intimate and profoundly moving. 💙🤍❤️
