You choose who you love

Even though Judas betrayed Jesus, that didn't change His choice to love us. When heartbreak happens, we often close off our ability to love deeply. But if Christ could be betrayed by many and still return to offer love, then so can you.

People will hurt you that's part of life. But should you go around looking for pain? No. Jesus gave and gave, and people took and took. Many even turned their heads as He stood on the cross. The same people who begged for miracles were the ones shouting for His crucifixion.

It would've been easy for Him to say, "These people don't appreciate Me I'm not dying for them." And yet, He followed through with the very thing He was born to do. Can you imagine the absence of love we'd be living in if Jesus had given up?

So think of the people out there who need to be loved and who need to love you. Yes, that man took advantage of you. But now, we ask God for guidance. Pray with me:

God, I know what it's like to be in so much pain that it feels safer to shut down than to love again. My prayer is that You would open Your daughters' hearts and bring healing. Give them the strength to know when to walk away and when to have patience with someone who is still growing.

Help us to forgive ourselves not just for how we've loved others wrong, but also for how we've mistreated ourselves. Let us see the power and beauty in loving fully, and not let past pain block the love You've placed within us.

Loving is a part of who we are. When we hold it back, we hurt ourselves and those around us.

Touch the heart of a mother who's struggling to love her children through a hardened heart. Touch the sister who feels too wounded to love her family well. Restore us, Father.

Open Your daughters' hearts again so that even if people take advantage of them, they will not be destroyed.
