The moment I walked in, despite the pouring rain outside, I was greeted by the enticing aroma of fresh, buttery croissants and warm pastries. It’s clear they take pride in their craft, with everything made fresh daily, many items featuring their signature croissant dough. One standout for me was their croissant pretzel twist — a genius fusion of flaky, buttery croissant layers and a chewy pretzel texture, topped with a subtle saltiness that is hard to resist. What I appreciated most was the variety on their menu; they don’t just stick to traditional croissants but offer inventive options like the spinach and ricotta swirl, reminiscent of a comforting spinach artichoke dip, making for a savory pastry that’s both rich and satisfying. Their blueberry cardamom bun and pistachio lattice, filled with raspberry jam and frangipane, offered the perfect balance of sweet and nutty flavors, showing their mastery in blending flavors beautifully. The savory options were equally impressive. I tried their brisket and cheese brioche bun sandwich, which was a scrumptious treat with tender brisket, caramelized onions, and melty Gruyère cheese — comfort food elevated to an artisan level. The croissant buffalo chicken sandwich and apple chicken salad croissant were flavorful twists on classic sandwich fillings that paired perfectly with the flaky croissant base. What makes Somedays Bakery truly special is not only their award-winning pastries but also the dedication to quality ingredients and handcrafted techniques. They’ve earned accolades like The Economic Times' Best Croissants in NYC, and it’s easy to see why. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic plain croissant or want to indulge in something more adventurous like their tiramisu cookie or cheddar pretzel twist, every bite is crafted with care. If you’re visiting New York, this Flatiron location (297 Park Ave S) is definitely worth making time for. The inviting atmosphere and a showcase of artisan baking will leave you eager to return for more. Somedays Bakery proves that a passion for quality and creativity can make all the difference in the bakery world.
