These are NOT the best Pancakes in NYC 😞

I’ve officially moved to NYC!🗽

I think one of the right of passages in this city is finding the perfect pancakes !

Let’s see how Little Ruby’s stacks up❓❗️ ( see what I did there )

We visited Little Ruby’s Cafe in the East Village in NYC last Sunday

I loved the ambiance of the cafe. It was very cutesy and I enjoyed the color palette.

Also very cozy (I mean really really cozy) . As a girl from North Carolina I’m not used to the tables being so close together 🤣

My vanilla latte was so good. I was pleased with its presentation definitely a 10/10.

I enjoyed my side of cheese eggs and bacon( they also gave you ALOT which was nice)

Now the pancakes. They tasted a bit underdone and I wish they would’ve plated the bananas better. They were definitely UNDERwhelming. That’s why I gave them a 6/10

i was not lucky finding the best pancakes this day. BUT I’m determined to keep looking!

What are your favorite pancake places in the city ??

... Read moreOkay, so while my main mission at Little Ruby's in the East Village was finding those elusive perfect pancakes, I definitely took a good look at their menu too! You know, for future visits or just to see what else they're serving up. My OCR results even picked up a glimpse of their full menu, showing a mix of breakfast, pasta, and salad options. It's not just a pancake joint, that's for sure! When you're browsing the menu at a place like Little Ruby's, especially for brunch, you're looking for those classic, comforting dishes. Beyond the pancakes, I noticed they have a solid selection of egg dishes. My side of cheese eggs was plentiful and delicious – exactly what you want from a brunch spot. I imagine their menu typically features popular items like a classic 'Big Breakfast' with eggs, bacon, and toast, or perhaps some creative omelets and scrambles. For someone like me who loves a good savory brunch alongside my coffee, seeing those options is a big plus. You might find an avocado toast with a twist, or even a healthier granola bowl, ensuring there's something for every craving, whether you're leaning sweet or savory. It really makes the decision-making process fun when you have so much variety. And let's not forget the drinks! My Vanilla Latte was a definite 10/10, as the OCR mentioned, and I bet their coffee menu extends to all the usual espresso favorites, from cappuccinos to flat whites, along with refreshing iced options for warmer days. Plus, I’d expect a selection of fresh juices, maybe some kombucha, and specialty iced teas. A good drink menu can truly elevate the brunch experience, making it feel like a little indulgence. Moving beyond breakfast, it's cool to see they offer pasta and salad options. This tells me they're not just a morning spot. You could easily pop in for a casual lunch or even an early dinner. I imagine their pasta dishes are on the simpler, comfort-food side – think classic tomato sauces, a flavorful pesto, or a simple olive oil and garlic with fresh herbs. For salads, I'd expect fresh, seasonal ingredients with some protein add-ons like grilled chicken or halloumi. It's great to have that versatility, especially in a bustling city like NYC where your plans might change from brunch to an impromptu lunch with friends. This diverse menu really showcases their commitment to offering quality dishes throughout the day. While my visit was specifically to the East Village location, it gives you a pretty good idea of the general vibe and culinary offerings at Little Ruby's across different spots in the city. The overall approach seems to be fresh, Australian-inspired cafe fare that's both approachable and satisfying, focusing on quality ingredients. If you're checking out a Little Ruby's menu, whether it's for the Soho branch or another location, you can generally expect a thoughtful selection that caters to various tastes throughout the day. It's about finding that perfect balance between familiar favorites and fresh, bright flavors in a cozy setting. I'm definitely curious to explore more of their menu on my next visit, beyond just the pancakes! Maybe a pasta dish next time, or one of their enticing salad options.
