PILATES INSTRUCTING CERTIFICATION
Going into more depth here about the cost, and where I went through.
I went through Balanced Body and have only completed the Mat courses. There are other courses such as reformer, chair, barrels, cadillac, etc.
Each course contains at least 3 classes you have to take that are cut up into 2-3 days (typically on weekends).
You also need to take movement principles and anatomy that are each 16 hours long.
Each class is 16 hours long.
Expect to spend at least $2,000, and to take at least 2 months to complete each certification (if you are on a time crunch).
Overall, you also have to take a written and practical test so study study study, and really perfect what you're doing! Good luck!

If you’re considering a career in Pilates, obtaining a Pilates instructing certification is essential. The cost of certification varies but expect to budget around $2,000, which typically includes several courses covering the Mat and various equipment such as reformer and chair. Courses often comprise about three classes split into two to three days, usually on weekends. Each major course requires around 16 hours of class involvement, coupled with additional 16-hour courses focusing on anatomy and movement principles. To successfully complete your certification, you’ll need to log a minimum of 134 hours that includes classes, observation, teaching practice, and self-study. Observing experienced instructors at Pilates studios enhances your understanding of teaching techniques. Moreover, practicing what you learn with real clients is crucial—it ensures that you not only grasp the instructional content but also become skilled at applying it in practical settings. Do not forget to prepare for the written and practical tests required to achieve your certification. Frequent review and hands-on practice will build your confidence and competency as a future instructor. For anyone passionate about Pilates, this journey may be challenging but ultimately rewarding. Embrace the opportunity to help others improve their physical health through Pilates training!
