Monday night, movie night
I'm spending the only night off that, I have this week. Laying on the couch and watching the movie, LEGEND. A good vs evil fantasy flick with a unicorn, and Tom Cruise. His character, Jack, hooks up with an angry elf, a jealous sprite, and a group of bumbling dwarves. They go up against the devilish Darkness, his gal Lily (who seemingly sides with Darkness) and his goblins. To prevent the sacrifice of the last unicorn. Which will ultimately cause the sun to set forever... dun, dun, DUNN! 🤘🏼
The film LEGEND, directed by Ridley Scott, is a quintessential fantasy adventure that merges elements of darkness and light. Released in 1985, this visually stunning movie showcases Tom Cruise as Jack, embarking on a quest to save the last unicorn from the clutches of Darkness, portrayed by Tim Curry. The film's cinematography and special effects, especially for its time, amplify its fairy-tale charm, and the battle between good and evil resonates with audiences young and old. One of the most notable quotes from the film, "What is light without darkness?", encapsulates the central theme of balance between opposing forces. In addition to capturing the enchanting visuals, viewers can also appreciate Scott’s metaphorical storytelling that goes beyond mere fantasy. The character dynamics, particularly the alliances formed between Jack, an angry elf, a jealous sprite, and dwarves, provide depth to the narrative. As they confront Darkness and his minions, audiences are drawn into a rich tapestry of emotions and moral dilemmas that question the nature of good and evil. LEGEND has garnered a cult following over the years, despite mixed initial reviews, thanks to its unique blend of mythic storytelling and a strong visual style. The film's ultimate edition includes both the director's cut and theatrical versions, appealing to both new viewers and longtime fans seeking a comprehensive experience of this fantasy classic.
