... Read moreHitting the 15-week mark in pregnancy feels like such a milestone! It's incredible to think how much has changed already, and every day brings new sensations and excitements. For me, this week has been a mix of relief from some early symptoms and the joy of feeling more connected to my growing little one. Many expecting mothers, myself included, often find the second trimester brings a welcome boost of energy compared to the first. While morning sickness might be fading, don't be surprised by other changes. I've noticed my skin glowing a bit more, but also some new aches as my body stretches. Increased hunger is definitely real – those cravings are kicking in! You might also experience a stuffy nose or mild headaches, which are pretty common as blood volume increases. It's all part of the amazing process of growing a human! At 15 weeks, your baby is doing so much behind the scenes! They're now about the size of an apple or a small orange, measuring around 4-4.5 inches long and weighing about 2.5 ounces. Their bones are continuing to harden, and their tiny heart is pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day – so much work! Fascinatingly, they're starting to develop their senses, and even their taste buds are forming. Some babies even start to grow hair on their head! It’s truly mind-blowing to think about all the intricate development happening inside. Emotionally, this stage can feel quite different. Many women feel a renewed sense of excitement and can start sharing their news more widely. You might start showing more prominently, making the pregnancy feel even more 'real.' It's also a time when you might start to feel the first flutters, though for some, especially first-time moms, it might be a few more weeks. Every bump journey is unique, so don't worry if your experience isn't exactly the same as others! Speaking of showing, finding comfortable and cute clothes is becoming a fun challenge! For a casual day out, like grabbing a warm drink at a coffee shop, I've found that flowy dresses or high-waisted maternity jeans paired with a loose-fitting sweater or shirt are perfect. Don't be afraid to embrace your bump! My go-to outfit inspo lately involves layering. A simple maternity tank under an open cardigan not only looks stylish but also provides comfort as my body changes. Accessorizing with a pretty scarf or some statement jewelry can instantly elevate a simple look. It’s all about feeling good in your skin and celebrating this beautiful phase. For those of us on a rainbow baby journey, reaching 15 weeks can bring a unique blend of hope and continued cautious optimism.
