... Read moreHi everyone! For those following my journey, you know this 'Rainbow Baby prt 2' video is a really special one for me. Welcoming a rainbow baby after loss is a unique journey, filled with immense hope but also understandable anxieties. It's truly a test of strength and faith, and I want to share a bit more about what this pregnancy has been like, especially as we've moved through some significant milestones.
One of the earliest big moments for us was the 20-week anatomy scan. It's incredible to see the actual 20 week fetus size on the ultrasound image – those tiny fingers and toes, a fully formed heart. It really makes everything feel so real and filled our hearts with so much joy and relief. It’s a point where you really start to connect with the little life growing inside you, and for a rainbow pregnancy, these moments of seeing your healthy baby on the ultrasound feel even more precious.
Now, as I've passed 35 weeks pregnant, the anticipation is almost overwhelming! This stage is all about preparing for arrival. Physically, it can be demanding – the constant urge to pee, the swelling, and just feeling generally heavy. Mentally, it's a whirlwind of emotions. Are we ready? Do we have everything? The nesting instinct kicks in hard, let me tell you! I've been organizing everything from baby clothes to the nursery, trying to create the perfect, safe haven for our little one.
Reaching 36 weeks pregnant feels like a huge accomplishment. At this point, the baby is considered 'early term,' and while full-term is still a few weeks away, knowing that they could potentially thrive if born now is a massive relief. We've been tracking our 36 week baby size, and it's amazing how much they grow each week – often weighing around 5.5 to 6 pounds and measuring about 18-19 inches long. Seeing those numbers reminds you just how developed they are getting. I’ve heard plenty of stories about a real life 36 week baby born, and it really puts things into perspective, making me feel more prepared for whatever comes.
The final weeks are a delicate balance of excitement and patience. Every kick, every movement, is a reassuring sign. I’m constantly checking for any signs of labor, making sure our hospital bags are packed and ready to go. The 'pregnancy journey' truly culminates in these last few weeks, preparing not just for a birth, but for a whole new chapter. For any of you out there on your own rainbow baby journey, remember to lean on your support system, cherish every moment, and trust your body. You've got this. This little one, a symbol of hope and new beginnings, is almost here, and I can't wait to share the next update!
