Hey everyone, I'm absolutely thrilled to share a little sneak peek of what I've been working on! If you're a fan of Arcane like I am, you'll recognize this formidable character: Sevika. I've always been captivated by her design and powerful presence, so she was an absolute must-draw for my next digital art piece. Starting a new drawing, especially a character as iconic as Sevika, is always an adventure. I usually begin by gathering a few key reference images from the show to make sure I capture her essence – her unique arm, her expressions, and that distinct silhouette. For this work-in-progress, I focused on getting the initial pose and proportions just right before diving into the details. It's a crucial stage because it lays the foundation for everything that follows. I often spend a good amount of time just on the rough sketch, trying different angles and compositions until it feels dynamic and true to the character. When it comes to digital art, the sketching phase is where all the magic starts. I'm using my trusty drawing tablet and software to block out the main shapes and lines. There's something incredibly satisfying about seeing Sevika slowly emerge from a blank canvas. One of the biggest joys (and sometimes challenges!) of drawing Sevika is her mechanical arm. It requires a lot of attention to detail to make it look both functional and integrated with her organic form. I find myself constantly zooming in and out, adjusting lines, and playing with perspective to get that industrial yet elegant feel just right. This WIP is still in the early stages – I'm currently refining the line art and planning out the color palette, aiming to capture the gritty yet vibrant aesthetic of Zaun. For anyone else out there who loves drawing or is just starting their digital art journey, my biggest piece of advice is to just start! Don't let the idea of a perfect finished piece stop you from putting your pen to tablet. Work-in-progress posts are fantastic for getting feedback and staying motivated. And remember, every artist, no matter how experienced, started with a first line. Experiment with different brushes, don't be afraid to make mistakes (the undo button is your best friend!), and most importantly, draw what you love. Seeing Sevika take shape on my screen has been incredibly rewarding, and I can't wait to continue refining her and eventually share the final artwork with you all.
