... Read moreFounders Day for Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a moment of profound reflection, celebration, and recommitment to the principles upon which our beloved sisterhood was founded. As we look ahead to Founders Day 2026, marking our incredible 113th Founders Day, the excitement is already building among Sorors Worldwide. It’s more than just a date on the calendar; it's a vibrant reaffirmation of our enduring legacy and a testament to the vision of our 22 illustrious founders who established this phenomenal organization in 1913. For me, Founders Day is a deeply personal experience. It's a day to pause and truly appreciate the profound impact Delta Sigma Theta has had, not just on the world, but on my own life. Thinking about 2026, I envision a collective spirit of joy and purpose. What does "latest" mean when it comes to celebrating our history? It means finding fresh, impactful ways to embody our motto, "Intelligence is the Torch of Wisdom," and our commitment to public service. This year, as we prepare for Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.'s 113th Founders Day, many chapters will undoubtedly be planning special events. From community service projects that uplift and empower, to elegant galas celebrating our achievements, and intimate gatherings where we reflect on our journey, there are countless ways to honor our roots. I personally love seeing the creative ways Sorors Worldwide embrace this day. It could be a virtual breakfast with sisters across different states, a local chapter dedicating a new initiative, or simply wearing our crimson and cream with extra pride. The OCR text mentioning "LIVING OUR Legacy" truly resonates. Every Founders Day is an opportunity to actively live out that legacy. It's about remembering our past, honoring the sacrifices and triumphs of those who came before us, and boldly forging a path for future generations. Our commitment to being "BORN TO SERVE" isn't a passive statement; it's a call to action that continues to inspire our work in education, economic development, physical and mental health, political awareness and involvement, and international awareness and involvement. It's also wonderful to see other Greek letter organizations, like the Brothers of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., extend their greetings, fostering a spirit of inter-fraternal respect and admiration. These connections reinforce the broader impact of Black Greek Letter Organizations. As Founders Day 2026 approaches, I encourage every DST sister to reflect on her journey, her contributions, and her aspirations for our sorority. Let's continue to be the change-makers, the advocates, and the leaders our communities need. This isn't just about celebrating the past; it's about propelling our powerful sisterhood into an even brighter future, ensuring our legacy of service and scholarship continues to shine brightly for another 113 years and beyond. Happy Founders Day to all my incredible Sorors Worldwide! Let's make 2026 a truly memorable celebration of our enduring spirit.
