Egg Sushi Bouquet: Looks Fancy is Actually Easy!🤪

Y'all since my mom doesn't like fish so I tried to make something that she likes. Introducing: egg sushi bouquet 😆Lemon8 Food

They're pretty easy to make, for 4pcs we need:

• 2 tbsp cooked rice

• 2 eggs

• 2 slice smoked ham, cut into 4 long strips

• 1/8 tsp salt and pepper

• 1 sheet sushi nori, cut into 4 long strips

• 1 tsp oil for cooking

Steps:

1. Lightly grease the pan and heat em on medium heat.

2. Whisk egg with salt and pepper.

3. Pour the egg and spread em into a thin layer. Cook for 1 min, flip, cook for another min. Set aside.

4. Cut the egg into a vertical rectangle (approx width= 2 inch). Then fold em into 2 (so now we have 1 inch width). Then cut the folded egg horizontally as in the 3rd photo (do not cut until the edges!)

5. Arrange in order: nori-rice-ham

6. Roll the egg by themselves, then place em on top of the rice bed and roll em together.

Enjoy!

... Read moreMaking this egg sushi bouquet was a delightful experience that truly brought a new twist to traditional sushi making for me. Since my family isn’t big on fish, I wanted to create a dish that still feels special and visually appealing without using seafood. The egg sushi bouquet fits perfectly, combining staple ingredients like eggs, sushi nori, and smoked ham to mimic the layered textures of sushi. One tip I learned when whisking the egg with salt and pepper is to make sure the pan is evenly heated and lightly oiled to achieve a uniform, thin egg layer. This forms the base of the bouquet and helps with rolling. The folding and precise cutting of the egg create that beautiful bouquet effect, so patience here really pays off. I also experimented with the rice texture—slightly sticky, room temperature sushi rice works best to hold everything together without falling apart as you roll. The thin strips of smoked ham add savory notes and a subtle smoky flavor that contrasts nicely with the sweetness of the egg. Arranging the nori, rice, and ham layers before rolling them into a bouquet was surprisingly fun and gave me a chance to be creative with plating. Once rolled, the bouquet not only looks fancy but also feels like a thoughtful present to share with loved ones, especially for occasions like Mother’s Day. If you’re new to sushi making or looking to try a fish-free alternative, I highly recommend this recipe. It’s approachable yet impressive, perfect for a quick snack or a light meal, and you can customize the fillings based on your preferences. Enjoy crafting your own egg sushi bouquet and delight your family with this unique, charming treat!
