COMET CATS: The ULTRA Saga Cover Arts

Wow, it's been such an amazing journey bringing my 'Comet Cats' saga to life, and I'm so thrilled to share more behind the scenes here on Lemon8! You've seen the cover arts, but I wanted to dive a bit deeper into what makes this crossover so special to me. When I first started thinking about merging the vibrant, chaotic worlds of Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss with the spooky, animatronic-filled corridors of Five Nights at Freddy's (FNAF), I knew it would be a challenge, but also incredibly rewarding. My inspiration really sparked from imagining what would happen if these distinct universes collided. The dark humor and quirky demon characters from Helluva Boss offer such a rich narrative backdrop, while FNAF's mysterious FNAF animatronics and lore provide endless possibilities for adventure and suspense. That's where the Comet Cats came in – I wanted a unique group of characters that could navigate both realms. So, who exactly are these comet cat characters you see on the covers? They're my original creations, designed to embody the spirit of both worlds. For instance, the pink and yellow cat you often spot is one of the central figures, bringing a touch of playful energy to the darker themes. When crafting the 'Hellova Intern' arc, I envisioned our Comet Cats finding themselves caught up in the shenanigans of I.M.P., perhaps even trying to fit in among the regular Helluva Boss characters. It was fascinating to think about how their unique abilities or personalities would interact with fan-favorites like Blitz, Moxxie, and Millie. Similarly, for the 'Glamrock Star!' arc, the goal was to immerse them in the neon-soaked, high-energy environment of Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex. Imagining them alongside the FNAF animatronics on stage, perhaps even becoming Glamrock Star performers themselves, really pushed my creativity. One of the biggest joys (and sometimes challenges!) has been designing the visual elements. From conceptualizing the look of a Helluva Boss cat that feels authentic to the show's style yet distinctly 'Comet Cat,' to integrating elements like the 'HELL' sign from the OCR into the backgrounds, every detail counts. I love seeing how the comet the cat concept evolves across different settings and story beats. It’s not just about drawing characters; it's about building an entire visual narrative that captures the essence of a massive crossover. I've learned so much about world-building and character development through this project. It’s truly a labor of love, and every comment and engagement means the world to me.
