It’s frustrating when people expect excuses to be made constantly for their behavior, blaming their hard lives as an unchangeable reason to stay stuck. In my experience, fostering friendships with those who refuse to change or take responsibility ends up being emotionally draining. It's not about abandoning empathy but about protecting my own well-being and encouraging others to take ownership of their healing journeys. Building resilience often involves setting clear boundaries and recognizing that compassion doesn't mean tolerating harmful patterns.
