Oversharing is a form of self harm

Girls,

Please don't do it. It's dangerous and it exposes us to narcissists and other predators. I have done it because I didn't have any sort of boundary or emotional education. It's normal in abusive households to overshare. Just don't. I have realized that sometimes I do it even i feel anxious before.

Just don't.

Understanding the motivations behind oversharing is essential. Often rooted in a desire for validation or connection, it can stem from past trauma, especially in abusive environments. Recognizing triggers like anxiety can help one develop healthier coping mechanisms. Establishing boundaries and engaging in self-reflection can significantly mitigate the risks associated with oversharing. Moreover, seeking professional help, joining support groups, or utilizing community resources like forums can foster a safer space for discussing personal feelings without risking exposure. Always remember, it's okay to keep some parts of your life private, allowing you the space to heal and grow without unnecessary external judgment or threat. Be mindful of what you share and prioritize your emotional safety above all.

I agree kinda, gives the wrong ppl ammo, but it’s good to have a friend or two or a therapist you can unload on from time to time. But generally over sharing is way normalized
