Hyperpigmentation vs Makeup🪞👩🏽
Calling all my hyperpigmentation light-medium to medium skin tone girlies! Do you struggle with acne scars peeking through your makeup? Even if it’s full coverage? I think I may have found you a trick, and honestly I’m probably so late to the game 🤦🏽♀️
All throughout middle and high school, I had pretty bad acne. Looking back now, it was only bad in my opinion because I would constantly pick at my skin. When I turned 18 years old, I immediately went to the dermatologist to get put on Accutane. Fast forward 9 years later, my acne is under control, but I still have leftover acne scars. I was never consistent with skincare for my hyperpigmentation up until the past few years. Now im really focused on using sunscreen, my Tretinoin, and anything else to help better my skin.
I have used many foundations and concealers throughout my life, but I’m constantly finding myself going back to the same one. Even though my skin is still in the healing process, there are still those stubborn marks I want to conceal when I am going out. (But remember, it’s not just about covering it up, it’s also about healing it!) No matter how many times I was color matched, had the perfect shade and/or invested in the right makeup - I always had a few marks still showing up! Lately ChatGPT has become my Google. I sent pictures of my skin care, my skin and my foundation and asked what was the best way to cover up this one stubborn mark under my eye. Chat GPT said everything I was doing was right, the makeup I use isn’t harming my skin either. It suggested for me to use a peach toned concealer to counteract the color of my scar based on my skin tone. You already know what I did, I went and picked up one at my nearest store! I couldn’t believe how easy the solution was and that I’ve never heard/seen of this before. I tried exactly what it said and I couldn’t believe the results!
How to cover a dark spot flawlessly -
After doing your skincare, APPLYING SUNSCREEN, (and whichever else you do in-between before applying your foundation) use the peach concealer on the desired spot. I like to use a densely packed concealer brush and tap the product, not rub, into the skin. Give it about a minute or two to dry, and then on top of that apply your regular spot concealer. If you spot conceal in a different order, just follow the same steps! I am just sharing with you what works well wirh me. Finish your makeup as usual, and don’t forget you are still beautiful without makeup🤎
