Color corrector DOs and DON’Ts ‼️ #colorcorrection #undereyebags #darkundereye #makeuptutorial #concealer
In my experience, mastering color correction under the eyes can dramatically transform your makeup routine, especially if you struggle with dark circles or undereye bags. One crucial tip I've learned is to always pick a color corrector that matches the depth of your skin tone rather than just a shade you think looks pretty. For example, if you use a color that's too dark or too orange, it can end up making the area look worse or create a noticeable orange cast once you apply concealer on top. Additionally, applying just a small dot or two targeted right where the darkest discoloration is located works best. Over-applying can lead to cakey makeup or the so-called "Oompa Loompa" effect, where the skin looks unnatural. I usually blend the product gently only on those spots with purple or bluish tones instead of spreading it around the whole under-eye area. This focused approach means I need to use less concealer overall, which makes my makeup look lighter and more breathable. After blending the color corrector, setting it lightly with powder really helps prolong wear and prevents creasing. From personal experience, skipping this step often results in the product settling into fine lines. Lastly, adjusting your concealer application afterward to compensate for the color correction is key – applying too much concealer can defeat the purpose of color correction and add unnecessary heaviness. Striking the right balance between corrector and concealer has always been my secret to bright, natural-looking under eyes.
