Backyard Fire Spreads to Power Lines
KEARNS, Utah — April 19, 2026
Unified Fire Authority and Unified Police responded to a working structure fire Sunday evening at approximately 5:26 p.m. near 4921 South 4095 West.
Upon arrival, crews encountered heavy smoke and visible flames originating from the backyard of the residence. The fire rapidly spread to a fence, a shed, nearby trees, and overhead power lines.
As a precaution, officers evacuated neighboring homes while firefighters deployed multiple attack lines to contain the blaze. Rocky Mountain Power was requested to respond due to downed and involved power lines.
Fire crews were able to bring the fire under control within approximately 15 minutes. No injuries were reported.
The incident was classified as a 1-alarm fire. The cause remains under investigation.
