Funk Fusion is such a huge let down

I imagined a vibrant world where I could see all sorts of beloved figures interact, much like the charm found in those popular Lego games. The promise of being able to 'meet and funk game' with so many diverse characters was a huge draw, and I truly believed it would be an experience where my life could feel a bit like a video game – full of fun objectives and unique encounters. However, my actual experience was a significant letdown, quickly turning into what felt like one of the worst video games I've ever played. The dream of a smooth, engaging adventure quickly dissolved into frustration. The mechanics felt incredibly broken; actions often lacked impact, and character movement was clunky, making basic navigation a chore rather than a joy. This made the gameplay tedious at best, as I constantly battled against the controls rather than enjoying the game’s content. Exploring the world also became a test of patience. The hub world, meant to be a central point of activity, was just annoying to traverse, feeling more like an obstacle course than a welcoming space. And the level design? Painful. It often forced repetitive tasks or presented frustrating challenges that didn't feel rewarding to overcome, draining any fun I tried to find. It truly was my biggest letdown of the year, especially given the high expectations I had for a game featuring so many fantastic IPs. What makes a game truly enjoyable is when it lives up to its concept, offering a seamless and engaging experience. Funko Fusion, unfortunately, fell short on almost every front. It wasn't just that it was boring; it actively discouraged me from continuing. For anyone looking for that exciting crossover experience with their favorite Funko characters, or a game that captures the spirit of a fun, character-driven adventure, my advice is to proceed with extreme caution, if not avoid it altogether. My 2/10 rating reflects just how far it missed the mark from what it could have been.
