Melaka's BEST Cendol!

I tried almost every viral cendol stall in Melaka (see 3rd pic) and this tiny takeaway stall won.

The cendol jelly here is homemade!!! Super chewy and fragrant, not that mass-produced rubbery kind...

Shaved ice is the SOFTEST I had. It melts evenly so the gula melaka + coconut milk actually coats everything properly.

Note tho:

Only 1 standard recipe/order. Gula melaka, coconut milk, pandan jelly, shaved ice. Nothing fancy. Just done right.

Other places I tried:

- ice too chunky (flavour not evenly spread)

- too much ice, not enough balance

- pandan jelly outsourced, texture quite meh

Tip: takeaway only‼️There are like 3 seats max outside. Buy and eat nearby/on the go.

Portion looks smaller but quality > size.

Backstory: this used to be run from the owner’s house. Now she(an old aunty) rents a small space inside a café. Didn't see her in the stall :"( Not sure how long this stall will last but hope it does forever,,, really love the cendol here…

Jonker 88 would be second: big portion, good value, but flavour + ice texture slightly less refined.

lmk if u chances upon better ones👀

... Read moreWhenever I visit Melaka, finding the perfect cendol is always on my list, and the secret really lies in the quality of the pandan jelly and the texture of the shaved ice. This stall’s homemade pandan jelly is noticeably more fragrant and chewy compared to the mass-produced versions you find elsewhere. It adds an authentic mouthfeel that truly enhances the overall experience. Equally impressive is the shaved ice here — it’s incredibly soft and melts evenly, which allows the gula melaka and coconut milk to coat every spoonful perfectly. This balance of flavors and textures is key; too much ice or chunkier ice at other places often dilutes the taste, but this stall gets it just right. One of the things I appreciate the most is the simplicity of their recipe: they stick to the essentials without oversophisticating it—pure homemade pandan jelly, gula melaka, coconut milk, and delicate shaved ice. This focus on quality rather than quantity or variety is refreshing. The portions may look small, but the richness of flavor more than makes up for it. If you’re planning to visit, a little tip: it’s takeaway only with very limited seating, so grabbing your cendol and enjoying it nearby is the way to go. I also loved hearing the charming backstory of the stall starting from the owner’s home to now a small café space, which adds a personal touch to the treat. For those interested, Jonker 88 is a decent runner-up with bigger portions but slightly less refined in flavor and ice texture. But for a truly memorable cendol experience in Melaka, this stall’s homemade pandan jelly and meticulously crafted shaved ice steal the show every time.
