Melaka's BEST Cendol!

I tried almost every viral cendol stall in Melaka (see 3rd pic) and this tiny takeaway stall won.

The cendol jelly here is homemade!!! Super chewy and fragrant, not that mass-produced rubbery kind...

Shaved ice is the SOFTEST I had. It melts evenly so the gula melaka + coconut milk actually coats everything properly.

Note tho:

Only 1 standard recipe/order. Gula melaka, coconut milk, pandan jelly, shaved ice. Nothing fancy. Just done right.

Other places I tried:

- ice too chunky (flavour not evenly spread)

- too much ice, not enough balance

- pandan jelly outsourced, texture quite meh

Tip: takeaway only‼️There are like 3 seats max outside. Buy and eat nearby/on the go.

Portion looks smaller but quality > size.

Backstory: this used to be run from the owner’s house. Now she(an old aunty) rents a small space inside a café. Didn't see her in the stall :"( Not sure how long this stall will last but hope it does forever,,, really love the cendol here…

Jonker 88 would be second: big portion, good value, but flavour + ice texture slightly less refined.

lmk if u chances upon better ones👀

... Read moreHaving sampled many cendol stalls around Melaka, one thing that consistently sets apart the best cendol is the quality and texture of the pandan jelly and shaved ice. Homemade pandan jelly, unlike mass-produced rubbery varieties, offers a chewy and fragrant bite that enhances the overall dessert experience. At this winning stall, their jelly’s texture complements the softness of their shaved ice — which melts evenly, allowing the rich gula melaka syrup and creamy coconut milk to coat every ingredient uniformly. The simplicity of their standard recipe—just shaved ice, homemade pandan jelly, gula melaka, and coconut milk—proves that you don’t need a complicated menu to make exceptional cendol. Quality ingredients and balance matter more than size or extras. Many other stalls suffer from chunky ice that disrupts the blend of flavors or use outsourced jelly with uninspiring texture. From my personal experience, takeaway is ideal here because seating is very limited. Eating nearby or on the go preserves the delicate textures before the ice melts. Even if the portions seem smaller, the focus on quality ensures you get more satisfaction per spoonful. This stall’s humble beginnings from the owner’s home add a charm and authenticity that you can taste. It’s rare to find a vendor this dedicated to preserving tradition while delivering consistently delightful flavors. If you’re exploring cendol options in Melaka, also consider Jonker 88 for its generous portions and value, although it lacks the finesse in ice texture and balance compared to the winner. When looking for the best cendol experience, homemade pandan jelly and perfectly shaved ice should be your criteria. I’m always on the lookout for new finds, so if you come across better stalls, do share them! In sum, quality ingredients, proper texture, and balance are the keys to outstanding cendol. This stall perfectly embodies those principles and is a must-visit for cendol lovers in Melaka.
