December Bucket List
It’s hard to find time in December to slow down what with the holidays and all. Don’t forget to take care of yourself.
What are your New Year’s resolutions?
December can feel like a whirlwind, can't it? Between holiday shopping, family gatherings, and year-end deadlines, it's so easy to let the magic of the season slip by. That's why I started creating a December bucket list for myself. It's my little way of making sure I carve out time to truly enjoy the festive spirit and take care of myself amidst the chaos. One of my absolute favorite traditions is to Have a Pajama Day. Seriously, there’s nothing quite like spending a whole day in your comfiest PJs, maybe watching holiday movies or diving into a good book. To make it extra cozy, I always make sure to Make hot chocolate – with extra marshmallows, of course! And to set the perfect ambiance, I love to Light a Winter Candle; the scents of pine or cinnamon just make everything feel more festive. For those chilly evenings, Host a Game night with friends or family is always a hit. Board games, card games, even charades – it’s a wonderful way to connect and share some laughs. If I’m looking for something more low-key, I’ll Do a Winter Themed Puzzle. There’s something so satisfying about completing a beautiful snowy scene while sipping on a warm drink. Of course, the holidays wouldn't be complete without some baking! I always plan a day to Bake Cookies, usually a mix of classic sugar cookies and some new recipes I've wanted to try. And if I'm feeling ambitious, Build a Gingerbread House is a fun (and often messy!) project that brings out the inner child in everyone. To add a touch of winter beauty to my home, I often try to Buy a winter bouquet – fresh flowers can really brighten up a space, even in the coldest months. And for a simple, yet charming craft, why not Make Paper Snowflakes? You can hang them everywhere! Beyond the fun and festive activities, December is also a great time for reflection. I make it a point to Set a Self Care Goal. Whether it's committing to daily meditation, taking a relaxing bath once a week, or just ensuring I get enough sleep, prioritizing my well-being helps me navigate the busiest time of the year feeling refreshed. And as the year draws to a close, it's natural to start thinking about the future. I always take time to Write a List of New Years Resolutions. It's not about making huge, impossible promises, but rather setting achievable intentions that will help me grow and feel good in the coming year. This list often includes things like trying a new hobby or improving my fitness routine. Another lovely tradition is to Participate in a Gift Exchange with friends; it's a joyful way to spread cheer and show appreciation without the pressure of buying gifts for everyone.
