Sweater Weather Activity

I absolutely adore finding books that spark creativity, and the 'Sweater Weather' book by Matt Phelan was no exception! It's such a sweet story that perfectly captures the feeling of the seasons changing and getting cozy for winter. For anyone looking for a gentle introduction to cooler weather and the idea of layering up, this book is a fantastic read. The illustrations are truly charming, and my girls were immediately drawn into the world of the little animals preparing for the chill. After reading, we jumped right into our own 'sweater decorating' session. It’s super simple to set up and provides so much creative freedom for little hands. First, I just traced some basic sweater shapes onto construction paper – you can make them any size you like, but ours were perfect for little hands to manage. We used plain colored paper, like pink and purple, which really made the decorations pop! Then came the fun part: embellishments!
