Apple Won’t Support These Devices‼️🤯

United States
2024/5/29 Edited to

... Read moreHey everyone! Following up on my last post about iOS updates, I know many of you are wondering about the future of your beloved iPhones, especially with all the rumors flying around about the upcoming iOS 18 UPDATE. It's tough when you hear your trusted DEVICE might not be SUPPORTED LONGER. So, what actually happens when Apple decides to end support for certain iPhone MODELS? Generally, Apple provides major iOS updates for about 5-7 years after a phone's release. For example, queries like 'is iPhone 8 still supported?' are super common. While the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus received iOS 16, they didn't get iOS 17. This means they've reached the end of their major update cycle. Similarly, the OCR mentioned 'Including the SE 2nd/3rd SERIES' – these models, while newer, often follow the lifecycle of the main models they're based on (like the iPhone 8 for SE 2nd gen). It's a common CONCERN for users trying to figure out 'what iPhones don't update anymore'. The big question is always, 'how long does Apple support iPhones?'. When your phone stops getting major iOS updates, it means you won't get new FEATURES or significant interface changes. HOWEVER, Apple often continues to PROVIDE critical SECURITY updates for older models for a period, even after they stop receiving new iOS versions. This is crucial for protecting your personal data, so DON'T WORRY completely about immediate security risks. You might not get the latest bells and whistles, but your PHONE won't just become a brick overnight. For those asking 'when will iPhone 14 stop being supported?', it's usually several years down the line. The iPhone 14, being a relatively recent model, will likely receive major iOS updates for many more years, probably through iOS 20 or beyond. It’s the older generation DEVICES, like anything under the XR, that are currently facing these changes. My personal experience has shown that even if a phone doesn't get the latest iOS version, it can still be perfectly functional for everyday tasks for a while. The main limitation is that new apps or app updates might eventually require a newer iOS version, limiting your ACCESS to certain functionalities or even entire applications. This is when upgrading starts to feel more necessary. It's a balance between enjoying your current device and wanting the latest technology. Apple's decision to stop supporting certain models is often due to hardware limitations that prevent them from efficiently running newer, more demanding software. Ultimately, if you're using an older iPhone and are concerned, keep an eye on official Apple announcements, typically at WWDC, where they usually clarify which DEVICES will get the next big iOS release. For now, if you have an XR or newer, you're likely in the clear for the upcoming iOS 18. Keep an eye out for those announcements and think about what FEATURES are most important to you when considering an upgrade! It's all about making an informed decision that best serves your needs and keeps your digital life running smoothly.
