By relocating select programs to the D drive, you can better balance your disk usage and maintain system stability. Before proceeding, it’s important to understand that not all programs can be moved simply by copying their files. Some applications require proper relocation processes to ensure registry entries and shortcuts continue to work correctly. Two reliable approaches to move programs include using in-built Windows features or specialized software. The first method involves uninstalling the program from the C drive and reinstalling it on the D drive. This method guarantees correct installation paths and system integration, but it may be time-consuming! Alternatively, you can use a symbolic link (symlink) approach: move the program folder to D, then create a symlink pointing from the original C drive location to the new D drive folder.
