Does it really need a headline?
These last couple weeks have been hard, stressful, exhausting, I’ve struggled to put food on the table and gas in my car. But I have also had some moments that were simply breathtaking, happy, blissful and carefree.
You see almost 3 weeks ago I walked out of my job. I was already feeling unhappy and dreading the 45 minute drive to work and the next 10 hours a day driving all night. It was wearing heavy on me and for a couple of months I had been thinking of leaving. I had even started putting applications in all over the place in closer locations.
But that day a couple weeks ago, the ball dropped and I left and didn’t look back. I called my parents and started working for them. But I couldn’t start until they came back from vacation. And that was 8 days. So I did what I knew to do and door dashed. But in my area unless you are too dasher, there’s not many orders to go around. So I’ve had many days where I was struggling to put gas in the car just so I could do it again. It’s definitely not gonna make me rich but at least it gave me a few dollars each day to feed my kids. I know my struggles are far from over but at least today I can breathe and just see a glimmer at the end of this wild and ever long tunnel.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!! And as always thanks for reading.
In today's fast-paced world, many individuals face similar challenges of job dissatisfaction and financial struggles. The decision to leave a stable job, although daunting, often leads to personal growth and new opportunities. It is crucial to acknowledge the feelings of anxiety and stress that come with such life changes. When transitioning to gig work such as DoorDash, flexibility can be a blessing but also presents unique challenges, like inconsistent income and the need for self-discipline. In such scenarios, exploring support systems, whether through family, friends, or community resources, can significantly alleviate stress and provide emotional support. Networking and seeking advice from others who have undergone similar experiences can be incredibly valuable. Additionally, engaging in self-care practices, maintaining a positive outlook, and setting achievable goals can help navigate this transitional phase more smoothly. As one seeks new employment or adjusts to gig work, it’s important to celebrate small victories—each step taken towards better circumstances contributes to overall well-being. Remember, enduring hope, and perseverance are key drivers in overcoming life’s hurdles. By embracing change and seeking support, it’s possible to transform struggles into opportunities for growth and fulfillment.
