Hidden Gem: Family-friendly Staycation in the East

We had a staycation at D’Resort, stayed in the marine animals themed family room and it turned out to be such a hidden gem for families. 💖

✨ Room & Bathroom

Themed with marine animals 🐠 all around, the room came with all the basic hotel amenities. Though the bathroom had a bit of chalet vibes, it has the basic toiletries and a super spacious shower (big enough to bathe two kids comfortably).

✨ Kid-Friendly Touch

Apart from the bunk bed (which my kids climbed up and down countless times 😅), the best part was the treasure chest with a number lock 🗝️. The kids had to count the marine animals in the room to unlock it — such a simple but exciting activity! They were thrilled with the plushie inside and carried it everywhere after. 🧸

✨ Overall Vibe & Activities

Clean, cozy, and family-friendly. Check-in was fuss-free.

Around the resort, you’ll find:

- A small indoor play area for young kids 🎠

- Bicycle rentals 🚲

- BBQ pits 🍖

- Horse stables (pony rides & horse feeding 🐴)

- Direct access to Pasir Ris Park 🌳

- Special entrance to Wild Wild Wet 💦

- Walkable to Downtown East with plenty of food options 🍜, plus supermarkets like Don Don Donki & FairPrice 🛒 & Indoor playground Tayo Station for the little ones 🚍

✨ Would I Recommend?

Yes! 🌟 Accommodation here is super wallet-friendly (~$300+) compared to big brand hotels like Shangri-La, and there’s plenty of activities to keep the whole family entertained.

❗We went on weekdays and saw tour groups staying here too (a few buses in the morning). Not an issue at all, just something to note.

D'Resort @ Downtown East

... Read moreWhat I loved about D’Resort beyond the room was how thoughtfully they catered to families with young children. For example, the treasure chest activity—where kids counted marine animals to unlock a plush prize—added a creative, interactive touch that really engaged my kids. It’s little features like this that set it apart from typical hotel stays. Additionally, having direct access to Pasir Ris Park and a special entrance to the Wild Wild Wet waterpark was a major bonus. It’s so convenient to step out and enjoy nature or splash around without the hassle of transportation. Plus, the nearby Downtown East area is packed with food options, supermarkets, and even an indoor playground, making it super easy to plan outings and meals. The indoor play area and bicycle rentals meant the kids never ran out of things to do, and we appreciated the spacious bathroom with chalet vibes, which made washing the little ones a breeze. The hotel also provided thoughtful amenities including toiletries that were paraben-free and not tested on animals, making it a reassuring choice for families conscious about such details. One thing to note is that on weekdays, tour groups sometimes stay at the resort, but it didn’t affect our experience. Overall, if you’re seeking a budget-friendly, engaging, and relaxing staycation in the east, this hidden gem at D’Resort Pasir Ris is definitely worth considering. It offers a fantastic blend of comfort, kid-friendly activities, and easy access to both nature and entertainment.
