... Read moreHey Lemon8 fam! So many of you have been curious about my tongue piercing, and honestly, it's become such a part of who I am now. I know my original post was just a quick check-in about my work day, but I thought I'd dive a little deeper into the story behind my tongue piercing, especially since it's something people often notice when I stick out my tongue for a peace sign! Getting it done was a big decision for me. I remember spending weeks researching and looking at different piercing styles. I finally went for it a couple of years ago. The initial healing journey was… interesting! Talking was a bit tricky for a few days, and soft foods became my best friend. But honestly, the pain was manageable, and it was totally worth it for the confidence boost it gave me. It was a way to express my unique style, much like my arm tattoos and nose ring. I love how it adds a little edge to my look, even when I'm just wearing a casual grey top in my office setting. People often ask me about managing it in a professional environment. Luckily, my workplace is pretty chill, but I've learned a few tricks. Good oral hygiene is absolutely key – brushing, rinsing with non-alcoholic mouthwash, and making sure it stays clean. It rarely causes issues now, and most people don't even notice unless I'm laughing or, well, making a peace sign! It's amazing how quickly it became just another part of my everyday look, alongside my brown hair and my usual casual outfits. Beyond the piercing, life's been a whirlwind. Like I mentioned in my earlier post, I'm often found working hard, but I always try to make time for things that make me happy. Today, for example, felt like a typical workday grind, but I'm looking forward to unwinding later. It's funny, when I'm at my desk in the office setting, deep in thought, sometimes I'll absentmindedly play with the piercing. It's a small comfort. And speaking of keeping busy, lately, that's been diving into learning Korean, which is why you see all those #korean and #learningkorean tags in my posts! It's challenging but so rewarding, a great way to use my brain after a day of work. For anyone considering a tongue piercing, or any body mod, my biggest advice is to do your research, choose a reputable piercer, and be diligent with aftercare. It really makes all the difference. Don't be afraid to express your authentic self! It's funny how a small piece of jewelry can spark so much conversation and connect me with so many of you. It's just one facet of my everyday life, alongside my brown hair, my love for comfy grey tops, and the daily grind. So, how about you? Do you have any piercings or unique ways you express your style? What fun things did you do today, or are you also just powering through a work day like me? Let me know in the comments below!
