YOU'LL NEED:

One candle, white, gold, or warm amber

A lighter or matches

A quiet space

Optional: a small crystal like clear quartz or citrine

STEPS:

Prepare

Turn off overhead lights. Sit comfortably.

Hold the unlit candle in both hands.

Take three slow breaths and let your shoulders drop.

Say quietly or silently:

“I honor the darkness that carried me here.”

The Release

Light the candle.

As the flame catches, name what felt heavy this year. You do not need details. One word is enough.

After each word, pause and breathe.

Say: “I thank what is complete. I release it now.”

The Return of Light

Focus on the flame. Notice its warmth and steadiness.

Name what you are calling back or inviting in. Choose one to three things.

Peace. Strength. Love. Protection. Confidence. Rest.

Say:“As the light returns, so do I.”

Seal

Place the candle somewhere safe.

Sit with it for a few minutes in silence.

When you are ready, extinguish it or let it burn down safely.

Close with: “The night has done its work. The light remembers me.”
