Worth the price?😫
The beauty of olaplex is in Repairs! It’s promise is to help Broken Bonds: Its patented ingredient, bis-aminopropyl diglycol dimaleate, relinks broken disulfide bonds in the hair shaft, which are damaged by chemical processes, heat, and physical stress.
It won’t magically fix split ends no product can do that except scissors
I used this intermittently for about 6 months
I have very fine texture a messy mix of 3a- 3b throughout my mane
I noticed a more uniform pattern in my hair which was a first for me I’d like to attribute that solely to the product but I can’t because I learned a new styling technique and got a new styler brush so I’m sure that also played a big part however the health of my hair was apparent
my hair is extremely thirsty because it’s highly porous and this line helped to combat that need to refresh and style between washes so for me yes it was worth it but to much of a good thing can be bad I did notice if I used it back to back without giving my hair a break I got protein overload which is a big no no so I’ll chalk that up to user error
I've been on a hair care journey myself and found that understanding your hair type is crucial before investing in treatments like Olaplex. For those with highly porous hair like mine, which tends to be thirsty and prone to damage, Olaplex's bond-building technology can truly make a difference by strengthening the hair's internal structure. What stood out during my trial was how Olaplex's key ingredient, bis-aminopropyl diglycol dimaleate, targets broken disulfide bonds caused by heat, chemicals, and physical stress. This repair process restores hair integrity in a way that moisturizing treatments alone can’t achieve. However, it’s important to remember that no product can fix split ends; regular trims are necessary. I also learned the value of moderation — using Olaplex too frequently led me to experience protein overload, which can make hair feel stiff or brittle. Giving my hair breaks between treatments helped maintain balance. Incorporating Olaplex into a routine alongside new styling techniques and proper tools enhanced the overall health and uniformity of my curls. The product helped reduce frizz and kept my hair manageable between washes, which was a game-changer for my hair care routine. For others considering Olaplex, especially those with 3a-3b curly textures and fine strands, this treatment can complement your regimen well. Just be mindful of your hair’s needs and avoid overuse. Combined with good hair care practices, Olaplex offers a targeted solution for repairing and maintaining healthier hair.
