Stratus (nameless ghoul oc)

So many of you have been curious about the backstory and creation of my Nameless Ghoul OC, Stratus, especially after seeing the pictures! It's been such a fun journey bringing him to life, and I wanted to share a bit more about the process and inspiration behind him. Creating an original character within the Ghost universe allows for so much creativity, and I truly poured my heart into every detail to make Stratus unique. For his look, I really wanted to emphasize his dual alignment with air and fire. The blonde hair and blue eyes, for example, were chosen to give him an ethereal, almost wind-swept quality, while the small horns hint at that fiery, slightly mischievous side beneath his calm exterior. And those elf ears? They just add to the otherworldly ghoul vibe! You can see in the photos how the black outfit with a high collar was designed to be sleek yet mysterious, keeping with the classic ghoul aesthetic while having unique touches. Putting together a Nameless Ghoul costume, especially an OC, is all about combining recognizable elements with your own flair. For Stratus, I focused on finding fabrics that moved well, hinting at his air element. The ornate silver claw-like nail extensions were a DIY project – a mix of craft foam and metallic paint can go a long way! If you're looking to create your own ghoul, don't be afraid to experiment with different textures and subtle accessories. Even simple things like a unique ring or a specific hand gesture, like the 'rock on' or 'finger heart' you see in the pictures, can add so much character. Thinking about his elements, 'air' makes him adaptable and fluid, perhaps even a bit elusive, while 'fire' gives him that inner drive and intensity. This fusion was key to developing a character that feels both grounded in the Ghost lore and distinctly his own. It's amazing to see all the incredible Ghost band cosplay out there, from the traditional Nameless Ghouls to the fantastic Ghoulettes, and of course, fellow OC creators! Seeing others' interpretations really fuels my own creativity.
