Every civilization builds a cathedral.

Stone… steel… or code.

The difference between worshippers and builders is simple —

one prays inside the system,

the other designs it.

3/5 Edited to

... Read moreReflecting on the idea that every civilization constructs a cathedral—whether made of stone, steel, or code—really puts into perspective the role of creators in society. As someone who has worked both in traditional architecture and software development, I’ve seen firsthand how the mindset of a builder transforms mere structures into symbols of culture and identity. In physical terms, cathedrals represent faith, community, and artistry. In modern digital contexts, code has become the architecture that shapes how we interact, work, and live. Designing a system—be it software, infrastructure, or organizational frameworks—is akin to shaping a new cathedral for the information age. The division between worshippers and builders is profound. Worshippers rely on existing systems to function and thrive, akin to congregants in a cathedral. Builders, however, bear the responsibility of envisioning and creating these frameworks from the ground up—what I’ve experienced as both challenging and deeply rewarding. Embracing this perspective, creators become not just technicians but visionaries, crafting solutions that address human needs and aspirations. Whether it’s a physical monument or a digital ecosystem, the act of building is a powerful expression of culture and progression. This philosophy has inspired me to approach projects with a mindset that goes beyond utility—aiming to create something meaningful, enduring, and reflective of our shared human journey.

A vibrant, otherworldly scene in Destiny 2 featuring a glowing pink and purple energy sphere at the center, surrounded by dark, gnarled structures forming a tunnel. The foreground has a shimmering, reflective blue surface, creating a mystical atmosphere.

A first-person view in Destiny 2 shows a futuristic weapon aimed towards massive, ruined structures. Glowing blue energy or water cascades from the structures, set against a desolate yet grand landscape with a small figure in the distance.
Describe a gaming world you wish you could physically visit.
I’d probably choose the world of Destiny 2. Most of the games I play are FPS games like Call of Duty or Fortnite, and honestly I would never want to physically live in either of those worlds. They feel too chaotic and dangerous without much beauty outside of the gameplay itself. But Destiny 2 f

A hand squeezes a cut lime, releasing juice. Overlaying text introduces "El Limón" as a colonial fruit that built a hemisphere's kitchen, survived a cartel, and shaped culinary traditions after arriving on a colonial ship.
Text on a faded background of an old sailing ship explains that Arab traders carried the Key lime to Spain, then colonizers brought it to the Americas in the 16th century, with Columbus introducing citrus in 1493.
A pile of whole and cut limes illustrates the contrast between the Key lime, which built Latin American cuisine, and the Persian lime, optimized for shipping logistics, with the milder version gaining more attention.
