From personal experience, the struggle to assert my own identity against societal expectations has been one of the most profound challenges. The streets, in their raw and unfiltered environment, showed me what survival really means—not just physically, but emotionally and mentally too. Every encounter was a lesson that shaped my understanding of resilience. Over time, the hard experiences taught me wisdom—how to navigate complex emotions, how to read situations, and most importantly, how to listen to my inner voice. Patience became essential, especially when change didn’t come quickly or when I faced setbacks. It took moments of stillness and reflection to realize that each day is an opportunity to shed imposed identities and reconnect with who I truly am. Remembering who I was before the world told me who I should be is an ongoing practice. It involves questioning external narratives and embracing vulnerability. By honoring my authentic essence, I found peace and strength that no societal pressure can diminish. For anyone feeling lost or pressured, taking time to reflect on your core values and truths can be transformative. It’s a reminder that authenticity is a daily commitment, a gentle return to the self despite the noise around us.
