A Career Pivot Changed My Financial Philosophy.

Welcome to my corner, where we can grab a coffee (or tea!) and have a conversation. 😊

My background is in Mechanical Engineering, and I'm a blessed mother of two.

Last year I made a career pivot into finance, a decision that's completely changed the way I understand money.

I've come to realise we can either go through life unconscious, or we can actively build our financial literacy one step at a time.

My hope is to be a part of your journey to financial freedom and independence, so together we can build lives that are not just busy, but overflowing with meaning and fulfilment.

I've discovered there's more to finance than numbers.

Investing and insurance, yes, but it's also about behavioural psychology, economics, businesses and understanding how the small actions today shape our future.

☕️ Coffee.

📈 Financial literacy.

💡 Investment geek-outs.

🌱 Lifestyle, personal growth, and lessons along the way.

Welcome to #SOFINANCE .

... Read moreMaking a career pivot from mechanical engineering to finance was more than just a change of job for me—it was a complete transformation in how I perceive and interact with money. Initially, finance seemed like a world dominated by numbers and complex charts, but I quickly learned it's deeply connected to human behavior and decision-making. One of my biggest realizations was that financial literacy is not an innate skill but a continuous learning process. Each small step—whether understanding budgeting, insurance, or the basics of investment—builds a foundation that empowers you to take control of your financial future. Coming from a technical background, I applied a problem-solving mindset to personal finance. This approach helped me appreciate the importance of behavioral psychology in money management. How we react emotionally to financial gains or losses can heavily impact long-term wealth building. Recognizing these patterns allowed me to develop strategies that align with my goals and values, reducing anxiety around money and increasing confidence. Beyond technical knowledge, this journey has emphasized the significance of lifestyle and personal growth. Financial freedom isn't just about accumulating wealth but fostering a balanced life where money supports your well-being and purpose. Engaging in communities like #SOFINANCE has been invaluable—they offer a supportive space to share experiences, ask questions, and celebrate milestones. Sharing over coffee or tea, as I like to invite, humanizes the financial journey and makes it less daunting. If you're considering a similar shift or just beginning to explore your financial path, remember that every action you take today shapes your future. Embrace learning with curiosity, be patient with yourself, and allow your financial philosophy to evolve. Financial literacy is accessible to all, and with each new insight, you get closer to a life filled with freedom, fulfillment, and meaningful achievements.

Considering private uni? 🧐
Many of us hear and feel that private universities are just an easy way to get a degree, and it’s essentially just buying the piece of paper without actually having to study or put in hard work. To some extent, I can see why this impression exists and I have witnessed my fair share of classmates sl
