Ambitious but lazy? Do you feel this way?!
I have spent MONTHS feeling so STUCK. I have spent so much time wondering what the next steps are in my life and have been so stressed. I was injured and then sick which took me out of the gym and left me to rot on my couch ordering DoorDash… LOL. I felt SO lazy and SO guilty but I was just having such a hard time finding the motivation in me. I have been trying to kick it but it has been a struggle. I have read books and watched motivational videos and applied for hundreds of jobs… the list goes on.
Many times I have wondered if other people are going through this loss of energy and surge of stress. Have you felt this before?
It wasn’t until this past week when I really put my foot down. I got so tired of being tired. I was sitting in my hotel room the day before a show and got myself up to go to the gym downstairs. I didn’t do much, but it was a start to get back into a healthy lifestyle.
I was focusing so much on the habits that I LACK rather than the ones I have to BREAK. I kept putting it off until tomorrow, which would turn into the next day, then the next month and so on. I began writing in my journal and started these right away:
1. STOP going to bed so late and sleeping in.
2. STOP putting off being active.
3. STOP ordering food and groceries.
4. STOP putting off small work tasks that can be done right now.
5. STOP excusing my behaviors. Everything I do and have not done has been because of ME. No other reasons to give.
6. STOP putting off prayer and meditation.
Now, there are many more habits I need to break and will probably be doing this forever, but this has been a really good start. It felt like something in my brain clicked. I was finally able to understand that there aren’t a million things I need to do to better my life, I only need to stop a few bad habits to get back on track.
I am nowhere where I need to be and I am hoping that this mindset continues to stick, but I thought I’d share to let you know that you are not alone. Being in your mid-twenties is HARD. I am going to keep going through ups and downs, but it’s so great when you start to realize that you CAN change your life.
Please tell me about your experience and what things have helped you! 🤍 #habitsdontworkunlessyoudo #maintain your habits #daily habits #breaking bad habits #embracevulnerability
Experiencing a dip in motivation and feelings of laziness is common, particularly during transitional phases in life such as your twenties. Many individuals face challenges in maintaining energy levels due to stress, health issues, or simply the overwhelming nature of daily responsibilities. To combat this, it is essential to identify and tackle detrimental habits that hinder productivity. Instead of just pursuing more ambitions, focusing on eliminating bad habits can often yield profound results in personal effectiveness. Techniques such as establishing a regular sleep schedule can enhance overall energy, while incorporating physical activities—even light ones—can elevate mood and mental clarity. Mindfulness practices like meditation and journaling can greatly aid in maintaining focus and self-discipline. Creating a structured routine, planning meals ahead of time, and setting achievable daily goals can also foster a sense of accomplishment and reduce procrastination. Most importantly, remember that changing your mindset is a journey rather than a destination. Embrace the process of becoming your best self, and don't hesitate to reach out and share your experiences with others who may be going through similar challenges. Building a support network is vital for motivation and growth; together, we can inspire each other to overcome obstacles and achieve our goals.

Journaling is so good for planning and structuring your day!! it’s also such a good way to track any progress you make 😍
