As a longtime fan of Kimetsu no Yaiba (KNY), creating original characters (OCs) is one of my favorite ways to engage with the story and community. Designing these characters allows me to explore unique personalities, backgrounds, and relationships that aren’t in the official series. When starting with my OCs, I think a lot about how they fit into the world — their breathing styles, roles as demon slayers or civilians, and how they might interact with canon characters. Drawing inspiration from the series’ themes of determination and family helps create deeper, relatable profiles. Sharing my OCs with others has been rewarding because it invites discussion and feedback. Other fans often ask about their stories and artwork origin, which encourages me to develop them further. It’s a nice way to connect and build a community beyond just watching the anime. I also appreciate seeing others’ OCs because it reveals how diverse and creative the fandom is. From unique fighting styles to emotional story arcs, each OC reflects the passion fans have for the series. It motivates me to keep improving my designs and consider narrative details. I’m planning a part 2 soon where I’ll showcase additional characters and perhaps share some sketches of their outfits or weapon designs. For anyone interested in trying their hand at creating KNY OCs, my advice is to think about what aspects of the story inspire you most and let that guide your character’s development. Overall, making these OCs enriches my appreciation for Kimetsu no Yaiba and gives me a personal creative outlet. I encourage other fans to try it too, whether through drawing, writing, or role-play. It’s a fun way to make the fandom even more special!
