Ion Red Mask Pigment

While I did get a noticeable change, and my hair appeared significantly brighter and more intensely red afterwards, it wasn't quite the super bold, in-your-face red I initially envisioned. The original post mentioned it "didn't do too much for me," and I can definitely relate to that feeling if you're looking for extreme vibrancy on darker hair without pre-lightening. However, it definitely gave my dark strands a beautiful, rich red tint that was visible, especially in direct sunlight, and my hair felt incredibly soft and looked shiny. How I Used the Ion Pigments Hot Red Hair Mask Getting the best results from a color depositing mask like Ion Hot Red is all about proper application. Here’s a simple guide based on my experience: Start with Clean, Damp Hair: I shampooed my hair thoroughly and then towel-dried it until it was just damp, not dripping. This helps the color penetrate better without being diluted by excess water. Protect Yourself and Your Space: This stuff can stain! I made sure to wear gloves (critical!) and put an old towel around my shoulders. I also made sure to wipe any drips from the sink immediately. Apply Evenly: Using the silver tube, I squeezed out a generous amount of the Hot Red pigment and applied it section by section, ensuring every strand was saturated from root to tip. I even used a wide-tooth comb to distribute it evenly.
