my non Aesthetic shower Routine

... Read moreWhen it comes to shower routines, not everyone follows a perfectly curated, aesthetic ritual—and that's totally okay. In fact, having a simple, no-frills shower routine can be just as effective for maintaining healthy skin and overall hygiene. What I appreciate about a straightforward shower routine is that it prioritizes consistency and self-care over appearance or elaborate products. For example, I usually start with a gentle cleanser suitable for my skin type, focusing on areas prone to sweat and buildup. Using warm water rather than hot helps prevent skin dryness, which I learned makes a big difference in how my skin feels after showering. I also include a basic exfoliation step a couple of times a week with a mild scrub or a washcloth to help keep dead skin at bay without irritating sensitive areas. Body care products don’t have to be fancy or expensive to be effective. I rely on trusted soaps or body washes with simple ingredients, especially those designed for black skin to help maintain moisture and even tone. After showering, I pat my skin dry gently and apply a body lotion or oil to lock in hydration, which greatly improves my skin texture and comfort. Incorporating these manageable steps into a daily shower routine makes self-care accessible and sustainable, especially for those with busy lives. The focus isn’t on an 'Instagram-worthy' aesthetic but on feeling clean, refreshed, and comfortable with your body care practices. Sometimes, less is more, and embracing a non-aesthetic shower routine is about celebrating what works best for you and your lifestyle.
