Quick and easy Sweet Chili Salmon
Recipe:
For Salmon:
• Wash and pat dry
• Season with garlic powder, onion powder, old bay, smoked paprika, salt, pepper and lemon pepper
• Airfry on 400° for 8-10 mins (I like mine super crispy so I keep it in a little longer)
* At about 5-6 mins in, drizzle with a bit of lemon juice and glaze salmon with Sweet Chili sauce and place back in airfryer for remaining time (I use the Blue Dragon Thai Sweet Chili Sauce).
•Glaze salmon one more time before serving.
Seasoned Rice:
•While the salmon is is in the airfryer, place a pot on the stove on medium heat
• Add a teaspoon of olive oil and a tsp of minced garlic. Let that simmer for about 3 mins
• Next, add 1 cup of white rice and 2 cups of water
• Season with a tsp of Chicken Bouillon and a tsp of Tomato Bouillon
• Stir
• Bring to a boil for 15 mins or until most of the water is evaporated
• Fluff and Serve
Broccoli:
* I use the steam-in-bag broccoli, because I find it more convenient
• Once the broccoli is steamed, season with onion powder, garlic powder and black pepper.
Sweet Chili Salmon is not just a meal; it’s a flavor-packed delight that can be enjoyed on busy weeknights or served at gatherings. The use of Sweet Chili sauce elevates the dish with a perfect balance of sweetness and heat. To start, ensure your salmon fillets are fresh and of high quality as this greatly influences the dish's flavor and texture. For those who prefer a lighter option, substituting the white rice with quinoa or cauliflower rice can be a nutritious alternative. Additionally, you can enhance the meal by adding a side salad featuring leafy greens and a simple vinaigrette to complement the rich flavors of the salmon. This pairing not only adds freshness but also boosts the overall nutritional profile of your meal. When preparing the broccoli, consider adding a dash of sesame oil or a sprinkle of sesame seeds for an Asian-inspired twist. Not only does it improve the aesthetic appeal, but it also enhances the flavor profile, making your meal even more enjoyable. If you're interested in varying the recipe, feel free to experiment with different seasonings for the rice. A touch of coconut milk during cooking can bring a classic Thai flavor, transforming your simple meal into an exotic experience.
