When considering the 'Oru Houston menu,' the chef's tasting is definitely the highlight, designed to take you on a culinary journey. You'll typically start with delicate appetizers, often featuring fresh, high-quality seafood. I was particularly impressed by the Bluefin Tuna (maguro crudo), which was incredibly fresh and beautifully presented. Another standout was the Wagyu Lumpia – a creative twist that perfectly blended rich wagyu with a satisfying crunch. As the tasting menu progresses, you're usually presented with a selection of nigiri. The 'Chef's 5 Piece Set' is a great way to sample a variety of expertly prepared sushi. But here's a pro tip: don't hesitate to explore their à la carte nigiri options too! I found the Kinmedai and Otoro to be absolute must-tries, delivering melt-in-your-mouth textures and incredible flavors.
